I went on a tinder date once with a girl and we planned to go bowling instead of the traditional dinner and/or movie.

I meet her in the newks parking lot. Well lit area and I was trying to be courteous about the whole deal because I understand tinder dating can be sketchy for girls. Anyway, she pulls up next to me in the parking lot and we exchange an awkward meeting and then she follows me to the bowling alley.

Once we get there I noticed she had a strange purse. No big deal, I'm not really up to date on my purse fashion so maybe it's in right now.

Nope. This girl pulls out her own bowling shoes and a bowling glove and proceeds to absolutely embarrass me. She goes on to tell me that she was on the bowling team in high school (wtf is this?) and has bowled in a league with her dad since she was a kid. I can handle losing to a woman, but she didn't even enjoy herself and kept trying to give me pointers and shite while she was systemically destroying me in front of God and everybody.

I didn't call her again

My worst date was more of a series of brutally boring dates.

Back in my youth, mid 90's, when I was home from school for the summer, my best fiends girlfriend wanted to set me up with a friend of hers. I was fresh back in town, so I figured it beats having to do any sort of work to meet someone, so I bit.

Met up with her and she looked alright, not a knockout, but pleasant to look at, nice body, hair was a bit big, but hey, it was Pittsburgh in 1995 and the 80's hadn't quite worked their way out of everyone's system.

We head out, and no shite, she doesn't say more than two words the entire night (looking back, this really wasn't such a bad thing). It was a painful couple of hours, it was like being by myself only with someone else following me around the entire night.

I forget what we did that night, dinner and whatever, but I hurry the night up and head back to her house to drop her off, thinking maybe I can meet up with some friends and try and salvage the boring night I just had. Get to her house, try and be nice and walk her to the door, thinking she's friends with my best friends girlfriend, don't want to start any static with them. Get to the door and she basically dives on me, her folks weren't home so we have our fun. Figure hey, this is a one time thing. Yeah, no.

I continue to punish myself, with a series of boring arse painful dates just to get laid. Seriously I was like a drug addict, sitting next to the phone, half sweating asking myself why I'm about to do this? Over and over again. If it was just booty call thing, It would have been excusable, but it always had to be a date.

Finally came to my senses when a good friend saw us out for a second time and asked me if we were a couple now. I ended things, she called a few times after and I bit again once, another painful night was had. I told myself I wouldn't go out with her again. Couple of weeks later I and found myself sitting next to the phone again looking to get laid. Thankfully I didn't make the call, met someone a lot more fun a week or so later, had much more fun the rest of break.

Blame myself for being too lazy to go out and meet someone else when it was easy to go with sure thing.

This one time I met a girl on the internet who appeared to be 18 and when I showed up to take her out this man came out of nowhere and asked me to "have a seat over there"

On a serious note I've had many of the typical boring dates of dinner and a movie and you just don't "click" with the person. I hate first dates like that. Too much tension and awkwardness. I've found the best first dates are to do something less intimate and one on one and pick a more social setting with alcohol. Do the dinner/movie dates on the 2nd/3rd date when you're more comfortable around that person.

But my worst had to be one time my senior year in HS. Took a girl out to dinner, then we rode back roads and drank beer till like 2 am. Was going good at this point. She loved my truck and we were creeping through a nice neighborhood as I was taking her home.

Now before I finish, know that my truck was my baby, my pride and joy at that time. Z71 Ext cab, 6 inch lift, straight pipes, eagle alloy rims, winch, programmer chip, brush guard, 2k dollar sound system, the whole nine yards. She's asks to drive it. I agree. Bad idea.

Here I am thinking this 5'2 petite brunette, sweet little country girl will just take it around the block nice and easy, timid as she appeared to be.

Hell no. That Bitch gets in the driver seat at 2 am in an upscale neighborhood and hits it pedal to the medal, pipes roaring tires screeching, lays on the horn to let anyone know to get the frick out of the way. Runs 6 stop signs, jumps a ditch, knocks a fence down and goes onto a football field for the local Jr high and proceeds to cut do-nuts on the field.

Well, it was actually just really recently that I had my worst date.

Ya see she's this 60 old that I find out has 130 cats and when we get back to her place it turns out she has a meth lab and the cops are waiting.......

I met a girl in match.com and decided to meet her at Chili's for a couple of drinks. A get-to-know-you meeting rather than date.

Between beer 1 and beer 2 she regales me with the tale of her winning a wiener eating contest at Sturgis (hotdog dangeling from a string and no hands kind of sexually charged contest). It's a good or bad thing depending on what you're looking for.

Then she starts explaining to me how her lovely puppy got hit by a car and she had to take him to the vet to get stitched up. Lo and behold the dog got to the stitches and started eating its own guts. I was pretty disgusted by this chick and told her I was swearing off match.com.

That's on top of the fact that she obviously used old photos of herself to make her seem younger and prettier.

The worst date was the one where me and my high school girl friend swapped virginitys. I was not prepared for that emotional roller coaster.

Sophomore year of HS... homecoming

Got turned down by my first choice (Senior) because she was going with her boyfriend... so I went with my safety school choice... a girl that was obsessed with me, way more than she was obsessed with proper dental hygiene.

We get to the dance and she decides she doesn't want to dance to anything other than slow songs. After about an hour, I decided to tell her that "while we came to the dance together, that doesn't mean I'm only dancing with you." She spent the remainder of the night sitting in the chairs against the wall, creepily staring at me and crying every time a slow song started. I take her home with makeup smears due to crying only to meet her dad at the front door. Trying to get a 16 year old to explain to her dad that she had been crying at homecoming and it wasn't from being assaulted was not fun. I missed the after-parties because he essentially kept me captive until she spilled the beans.

After my first year at LSU, I'm home for the summer. My baw from high school going to a different school calls me one evening and told me his girl (probably an OT 6) had a cousin in town and she wouldn't go out that night unless he fixed the cousin up with a date. I naively agree.

We go pick up the girls in his car. The cousin is an OT 1 (generous rating), her nose looks like it comes out of her forehead, she's about 30 pounds overweight and her face looks like it caught on fire and someone stamped it out with a track shoe.

I whisper to my buddy - "let's not go to a movie downtown, let's go to the drive-in". Nooo, his piece wants to see the movie downtown. We get the tickets, rush in and sit in the dark. I think nobody sees me.

The next morning when I come down to breakfast, my mother (of all people) says, "I hear you had a date with a really ugly girl last night." Apparently, my sister was at the movie and saw me.

Little side note: My baw fixed me up with a blind date several years later whom I later married.

Went out with this girl once and spotted a Red Lobster gift card as she was taking out her wallet to show the server her ID for her drink. Immediately ducked out without saying a word.

That's absurd. I would have gone out for a nice seafood dinner with her... and never called her again.

Idk if I would consider it a date. But I met this girl at my neighborhood pool. Her parents live there. I hadn't been on a date in over a year. Just got tired of dating and still hungover from my divorce. My confidence was in the shitter, but I decided to give it a shot though. We talk for a few days. And then she comes over to the house. It was a nice evening, so we decided to take a walk around the neighborhood. She didn't talk that much. The mosquitoes were unbearable. It was very awkward. I was nervous. The conversation felt forced. I knew I hadn't dated in a while, but geez. We went out a few times after that, but I feel like I blew it on that first date. She still texts me from time to time, but we haven't went out since.
