Well I remember in pre school this chick I was talking to wanted to go on a date by the monkey bars on the playground. I met her by the monkey bars with my tricycle. She wanted to take my tricycle and that was it. How could I date a girl who would take my tricycle?
From then on I stuck to talking to the go go girls who enetered their place of work which backed up to my grandmothers backyard fence. They were real women who gave me candy and matchbox cars in the boxes not the modern plastic and cardboard cards.

Just want jump in here to ask what kind of "professional equestrian team" this was?
Only way there is a professional team is polo...

It was an eventing team. We were sponsored by some super rich guy. I wasn't a paid rider on the team bc I had Olympic dreams LOL but hottie was a paid trainer on the team. I got living expenses paid for. Had to teach riding lessons to other rich people's kids for actual spending money.
There are plenty of professional show-jumpers: not as many but some professional eventers and dressage riders. There is actually quite a bit of prize money on the show-jumping circuit and a ton of it to be made in endorsements. Watch some of the televised show jumping. Those guys aren't doing it for free. Or just google professional show jumping.
ETA I didn't use the term "professional" to brag: but to drive home the gravity of the situation. Not only was I trapped for 2 + hours in a car, on a date, puking my guts out - I was with someone I worked with; that I was going to have to see on a daily basis and travel with. It was horrible.
