This thread went exactly as the OP expected.

because you came across like it was something that was absurd for someone to want a gun in their car to help them in the case they would ever need it.
Well, if I had to take a stand I would say it actually is rediculous to carry a loaded handgun in a car. Then again that's why I asked about specific circumstances in 7th's case.

Again, all I was asking 7th was if he felt threatened or had been robbed before because I have never needed a gun in the car
Then people chimed in about how retarded it was to ever question wanting a gun in your car as if THATS a stupid position.

But in all honesty the rediculous paranoia is at the bottom of BLM movement, anti-Mexican, anti-Muslim, anti-Confederate monuments, etc movement.
Everybody is scared of stupid shite and it's really, really affecting our culture now and thereby affecting me. Time to stop being quiet about extreme thinking invading what is the absolute pentacle of peaceful times.
At no other time in history is your life as a human more safe from anything on earth and yet there are those that shape public policy based on the boogeyman.

who are you to question someone's premium put on their peace of mind...
Well there are some people that have unreasonable thoughts that find their state of "peace of mind" when others are put in danger.
Peace of mind is not the end of the conversation.
ETA: you seem to be very emotional. Is this discussion upsetting?

2nd, you stole my answer. The Last Man on Eartg is my choice simply because you aren't still dealing with what killed the human race and I could live in any mansion I wanted because it seems that some invisible force is maintaining the infrastructure.

Even if that peace of mind is illusion and that the chance of needing a gun in a car in infinitesimal?

some people living in an urban environment may put the same premium on the peace of mind having a 9mm always at an arms reach as often as legally possible
And that really what my questions to 7th wards were about but these threads never stay on track with the nut jobs on here.
I was just asking him if he was afraid of criminals or was frequently in a bad place.
And that's all it's been. It seems you live a little more scared than I do. Do you live in a bad area?

Unfortunately cars are a very needed commodity for most in contemporary America. Unlike handguns.
Btw, I noticed you used "peace of mind" like others. Are you scared daily? Serious question.

While many people would say that a car makes their life more convenient, I don't know many who would say that a gun makes their life convenient unless they live off of the land. We both know you don't do that.
So, how else is a car like a gun?

It's a sick form of narcissism. All people know is a few years after being born till the eventual inevitability of their death.
How important would you be in the annals of human history if you were alive to see the end of the world?
Truth is the world will go on without you or me or even the human race. Why do you think religions usually have an apocalypse prophecy? If we just die and nothing happens then there is no meaning to life. We aren't as important as we'd like to think.
So yeah, god loves us and our lifetime is so important to us that surely our time here has significance. Some people want the world to end.

Sure. Because I'm surrounded by water.
However, I'm not surrounded by targets while driving.
But honestly I know they answer to why people carry guns in their cars. They are always paranoid. My brother carries one because he's going to be Bruce fricking Wilis when shite goes down at the local strip mall. No matter what I tell him he can't be convinced otherwise.

Well that's the thing that confuses me. I don' t think it's wrong to carry a gun in your car. I just think it's as crazy as carrying a life preserver in your car in case of a flood. Both may save your life but do we really need them in a car?
And I asked because maybe 7thward does some shite he ain't telling us or maybe he got robbed 4 times or something.
