re: Worst city in Louisiana?

Shreveport isn’t great. But I live in a gated community insulated from the crime. I love my neighborhood. The infrastructure is the best of all of the state’s “major” cities. There is an airport so you can easily leave. It’s big enough to have some things to do.
I mean, I’m leaving the second I am able to retire, but it can’t even be considered the worst city in Louisiana.
I have travelled all over the state and the worst cities are Leesville, Ville Platte, Marksville, and Bastrop.

NOLA...and it's not even close! LaToya the Destroyer has completed the destruction of the city started by Mitch the Bitch and probably going back to the days of his dad, Moon Landrieu. A great city destroyed inside out...sad.

Only going by cities or metro areas.
Worst to best:
1. Ellick
2. Monroe
3. Shreveport
4. Lake Chuck
5. BR
6. NOLA
7. Northshore
8. Laffy

Those cities were beautiful at one point. I wondered what happened?

I don’t know the worst, but I miss my Morgan City.

None of those can be worse than Simmesport, can they?

Are they not the same metro area?

You could pretty much take all of north Louisiana and have a legit top 10 here. Exceptions being Ruston and possibly West Monroe.
Looking at the lists makes one believe most of you have never had the pleasure of driving through Bernice.

Vast majority of people that shat on SHV are from South La & don’t live here. They put down SHV or Monroe just because it’s in North La. I’ve never understood this. It’s quite laughable that anyone from BTR area or metro Nola points to SHV as being the worst. SHV has huge crime issues in bad areas but really nice areas too & tons of potential.
Like was mentioned earlier, the road infrastructure is good & tops in state easily. Not only 49 but loops & nice parkways on either side of river w/ huge expanses of park/ green space. Also, bossier has one of the largest Air Force bases in the world. As many here, I’ve been stuck in BTR or on the south side of Lafayette on the Ghetto Thruway...trying to escape the city. Makes me appreciate what proper planning & building for the future is, instead of reactive, Uber costly fixes.

frick no. I hate it when north shore people try to act like they’re from nola. Like when they describe where they’re from to people who don’t know they say it’s by New Orleans. By that measure then people from Lafayette can describe the location as being by Baton Rouge.

While small, the terribleness of Maurepas is a force

No. Separated by 30 miles and a huge lake. Sure, it's the burbs for NOLA workers but still a far different culture and landscape.

Like it or not it's included in the New Orleans MSA.
