All that tells me is that he believes he’ll benefit by much more than 10 billion due the climate change hysteria.

Because they lumped both past and future changes in the climate together. Some may believe if it changes in the future but nothing to this point was caused by man or vice versa but that questions lumps it all together with all recent past and future change is man made.

So 83.5% are convinced to a large extent or very much convinced that cc is due to anthropogenic causes. Some would say that’s consensus.

Nice try. Actually, of the 18% that actually took the survey, only 2 questions were asked about AGW. And of those 2 questions, the responses were...

quote:

Question 20, "How convinced are you that climate change, whether natural or anthropogenic, is occurring now?" Answers: 67.1% very much convinced (7), 26.7% to some large extent (5–6), 6.2% said to some small extent (2–4), none said not at all. Question 21, "How convinced are you that most of recent or near future climate change is, or will be, a result of anthropogenic causes?" Answers: 34.6% very much convinced (7), 48.9% being convinced to a large extent (5–6), 15.1% to a small extent (2–4), and 1.35% not convinced at all (1).

So if you want to use this survey as a slam dunk, then feel free to strut around thinking you won something.

Personally, i would think anyone using bray and von storch's results as conclusive to anything is someone just looking for a win, no matter how marginal or how erroneous that win may be.

FTR, Bray and Von Storch did not conduct the 97% survey. I posted the results to that one, too. That particular survey, 67% of surveyed scientists took no position. Of the remaining 3900 scientists that did, only 73% endorsed the idea that AGW had SOME affect on climate. This does not a consensus, make.

Another question from same survey:

41% of the 18% that took the survey (153 total scientists)? Where do i send the check?

ETA: Which of the 3 surveys are you pulling this from?

why would you count the people who didn’t agree to take the survey in the numbers? The 83.5 is based on climate scientists who they polled.

Because when you are stating "consensus of all climate scientists" but only 18% of the climate scientists you reached out to, are taking your survey, you don't have a consensus.

Of which 82% didn’t answer. Is it possible that the only people that answered had a bias? Maybe the people that didn’t answer were even MORE believing in MMCC. All I know is it’s hard to claim a consensus when 80+% of the people didn’t respond.

It’s a poll. There’s been multiple polls and they all have they number between 70-97. Do you know how polls work?

Wait, i thought it was consensus? Are we moving away from that now?

Member?

FWIW, it's ok to say "i was mistaken".

Of course it is possible. It’s also possible that the only people who didn’t answer had a bias.

Yes, and they've conducted multiple surveys. If it's the 2003 survey, then you can throw it out completely.

I am fairly certain this won't come out of his own pocket but will be created as another tax break for Amazon.

Well, no shite. Of course he'll get tax breaks. Everyone who gives a substantial amount to charity gets tax deductions. But it still comes out his pocket, and especially in Bezos' case, because he is notorious for having a low tax rate. In case you don't know how it works, if Bezos' tax rate is 40%, and he donates $100, he'll save $40 in taxes. But net he'll be down $60.

A consensus is the judgement arrived at by most of those concerned.
