From the limited information it seems like he never rolled his window down and they didnt know who he was. So they tried to stop him and he didnt stop.

none of us have seen video of the confrontation.. i tend to take whatever side the cops are NOT on in these scenarios , but no one knows exactly what transpired .

this if a cop jumps on my car this morning it will take a few feet to process
Especially if you’re not even sure he’s a police officer

So its kind of big deal for them to play golf, but its not a big deal that there's a dead dude in the road?
Not that it matters, but did he even know? It was 5am and dark. We’ve all driven around accidents before. And so did a lot of other golfers on their way to work, apparently. Was he supposed to get out and say a few prayers?

he never rolled his window down and they didnt know who he was.
He was in a marked player courtesy car that looked just like the others going thru prior. Common sense says this was a complete over reaction.

Them not playing golf isn't gonna bring that person back. Are you suggesting the cancel the entire day of the tournament?

The ESPN reporter played audio of the interaction. The cop was the one escalating the situation.

This cop is going to get treated like this from now on for being such a dumbass. I'd say he'll get demoted to traffic, but he obviously can't do that correctly so what's under traffic cop?

You ever drove by an accident and they stop traffic to let a ambulance or fire truck to pull out?

I think it does matter. There is no way he could’ve known exactly why traffic was stopped. He just knows he has special access and was trying to get around the traffic so he can get to the clubhouse on time.

Police love to escalate shite don’t they?

Are you suggesting they should have just left the body in the road? Or would delaying an hour or so hurt anyone?

If I’m driving by an accident like cars ahead of me and someone jumps on my car in the dark, I imagine I’d be startled and drive a few more yards while processing what’s happening.

these silly announcers keep trying to make it out like a big deal, and not saying it's not, but i seriously doubt Scottie gives a shite about this going forward.
"serious charges" they keep talking about like he's goign to have to deal with this. He won't deal with a single thing from this, and none of those charges are sticking and he's not even going to end up in court or anything.
Higher up people will intervene and this will all get dropped probably before the end of the tournament.
