Nope, but I would only be going there occasionally to use specific pieces of equipment.

In that case, no doubt about it. Pull the trigger

The one near me has a ton of treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and other cardio machines. Even when the parking lot is jammed, there are machines available.

It has a fair collection of weight machines, smiths, smaller dumbbells, etc. They are usually available.

The typical customer seems to be a fat chick who walks on the treadmill. There is certainly a mix of customers, but you will see more heavy moms at PF than at traditional gyms.

$10 (plus tax) is tough to beat. They also charge $30 a year on top of that, but they often waive it for the first year. And they insist on drafting the $10 out of a bank account. No credit card.

Go take a tour when they open and see if they have what you are looking for.

Can anyone confirm whether or not most have Hammer strength machines or not?

Hammer strength

The one I went to (Florida Blvd) didn't have them IIRC. This was before I knew what PF was. I walked in with my cut off and walked around to take a tour and they didn't seem like they wanted to help me very much. I was like "where are y'alls free weights?"

1. Call and ask yourself
2. go tour the one you want to join
3. quit worrying about it.

1. The one in my area is not open yet.

2. I have heard that most have this equipment
but was not sure if this was true.

3. Since we have posters here from all over the
country I figured I could find out from
members of their location did.
4.

When does it open? You can probably find out who will be the manager and call to ask them.

I have not been in one for years, but Im about 90% sure they dont have Hammer Strength. I believe they use Precor (which I despise) just like Anytime Fitness. I came from a gym that had Hammer Strength and it's just something I have to live with as far as doing without. I too like Hammer Strength alot.

Why do people here act like the free pizza is a bad thing? If you're in shape you can eat the frick out of some free pizza every now and then. I know I would.

Planet Fitness has been instrumental in helping me get back in shape. I am a black card member and go to the Gonzales location and Florida Blvd location.

The Gonzales location has the Hammer Strength machines. Both have tons of treadmills and such which I use mostly.

Of the people that I see regularly (and I go about 6 days a week) there's a mix of those in shape and those very out of shape. Tootsie rolls are available at the counter though I don't eat them. I've been around for the free pizza day and free bagel day and have never partook. I don't see the point of working out and eating junk, and if I'm going to have a cheat day, it won't be with pizza or bagels.

I highly recommend it for someone looking to get back in shape who maybe doesn't want to lift 70 lb dumbells or squat 400 lbs.

After I workout, eating pizza is the last thing I want to do unless I want to be in the bathroom for the next hour or so.

All Anytimes are not created equally. The only Precor we have are the ellipticals. We have hammer strength and life fitness.

Not a chick and you dont have to lift heavy to get in great shape. You can get a great workout and get in great shape with just cardio and bodyweight exercises.

If you are serious about training, stay as far away as possible. You couldn't pay me to go to Planet Fitness.
