It is St George. Not sure what StG means though.
Same police force.
Same shitty schools.
Same infrastructure.
Same taxes (maybe more who knows).
Same traffic.
Same thing that made that area what it was before.
Give it 10 years and revisit the topic.

Well it won't be the same schools and taxes if they get their way. Some taxes are parish wide but others are BR specific.

You think the St George fairy is gonna really change the culture of the kids in the schools? Keep drinking the KoolAid.
Fairy? No.
Degenerates leaving? Yes.

That area isn't going to suddenly get cheaper to service. Funding the schools properly will take the existing if not more.
I don't think things end up worse, Im just withholding throwing confetti for now.

Both of my sons graduated from Woodlawn. One is studying to be a Nurse anesthetist, the other is an Electrical Engineer for a major Aerospace/Defense manufacturer. It's all in how the kid chooses they want life to turn out
Good parents help too. Congrats.

I think taxes will go up in STG and BR. I don't know how their schools could be worse but have no clue if they'll be good either.

Doesn’t hurt. But it’s definitely not the end all be all either.

I don’t remember the last time they made any noise in major sports.
Used to be above average in basketball

If Central, Zachary, Livingston and Ascension can have good schools; I see no reason that SG can’t have good schools too.

If #2 in the country is "above average"

The rest of the parish having a shitfit would be a big reason.
If the legislation passes to form an ISD, it has to pass a statewide vote and a parish vote.
Statewide likely passes easily.
Parish vote is questionable because BR votes no, Zachary and Central likely vote yes, Baker votes no, and St George will be split because of the Magnet parents who don’t want to be forced out of the EBR schools.

If they teach magnet classes great. Regular classes will be like teaching at glen oaks. From what I hear St. George doesn’t have the buildings and/or the money to have their own schools so they will still with EBR schools. Most kids in that area attend magnet programs so they have no desire to leave Ebr school district.

They’re usually pretty damn good in basketball. They’re football team is coached by Marcus Randall and they have had some decent football teams the past few years but not great teams or anything. Baseball is absolute garbage at that school

i sent my daughters to Woodlawn Elm. and i really liked it. however, that was 6 years ago. one of the parents that my youngest went there with has another kid, and pulled their kid out and is going to private. school has gone down since we left.
i lucked out on the magnet lottery and didnt have to go to woodlawn middle with either of my two daughters. but had parents i knew that sent their kids there and it was mediocre at best.
woodlawn high is trash. great when compared to the non magnet BR high schools, but trash when compared to a real education. again, very thankful my daughters went the magnet school route, otherwise it would have been private schools
with respect to teaching, depends of if they will teach regular classes, the "scholars" classes or gifted classes and the types of students they get....
