Honest question:
How much do you think social media has changed the game?
Back in the day you married your high school sweetheart and made a family and a life and it was supposed to be for life and all that. The pressures to stay together were much greater.
Now you have constant negative influences telling them whatever they do is right and whatever you do is wrong, and any time they get the least bit insecure some Jody will come and blow smoke up her arse and promise her the world.
Then once she's broken the marriage and jumped ship she realizes her new Beau-t is just a leaky dinghy.

People are far more exposed to constant negativity and such. Views of what's normal can get really warped.
People are wired differently via genetics and experience. Whatever works to get them by is good. If that means marrying at 19, more power to them.

OP's cousin didn't want to Google states that allow cousincest because her trailer only had dial-up.

Typically, women only see/remember the negatives in a relationship. Then, they get on social media and see all of this other "awesome" stuff that people post and think they should be having that. They forget that other women have equally shitty lives, but don't post pictures of that stuff on their FB

Depends on their self esteem. There are good, strong women out there lost in a sea of socially incompetent lemmings.

My sister married her high school sweetheart. They were happily married for over 30 years until he passed away a few months ago.
He never wanted any other woman than her. She was the one for him and he adored her till the day he died.
I know it is not for everyone though They were just some of the lucky ones, I guess.

My wife and I started dating in high school. We dated all through college and got married when we graduated. 23 years and we still love each other. We rarely have any arguments and I can't remember a time ever that either of us have raised our voice in anger. She's still great looking after three kids and she's adventurous in the bedroom. And, she's cool as hell and very intelligent. All in all, I understand why it's not for everyone. People change a great deal in their twenties and in general are extremely selfish. But, it sure as hell worked out great for us.
