Even if she had a more treatable form of cancer, her choice was to kill her child and maybe live on, or die herself and have her child survive. I don't see how you can criticize a mother who exchanged her life for her child's.

Not always true but almost. Tough spot to be in regardless.

What a terrible situation for her and her family. Treat her cancer and end the life of her unborn child.
She made the decision most would make I would think, but still very difficult on the entire family.

Did you miss the part where I said it wasn't what you said.

It was the act of speaking before even attempting to have a clue.

Pretty sure I emphasized that shite pretty hard.

It wasn't like the information I meationed was hard to find, given that the crucial parts were in the link that the OP put. And yet there you were.....

But keep on crying though for being judged based on what you actually did, which is a hell of a lot more than you gave the mother there before putting your foot in your mouth.

So let me rephrase my original gripe:

You spent more time commenting on her choice than you did learning about it.

Everyone makes mistakes.

Real men own up to it rather than making excuses for them.

You know the second most hated trait I have for people, that seems to be correlated with the first? Lack of desire to self improve.

2 for 2 in a single thread.

There is nothing brave about this. It was fricking stupid. If she had a kid, be around to be a mother. If my wife faces a decisIon like this with our two kids already alive, i would get the coat hanger myself.

Sad but that required incredible bravery.

Guess that depends on your POV. She could have saved her own life, then brought more babies into the world

I agree I'd probably fight my wife on the decision, but if you're saying it's not a brave choice, you either didn't read or a you're a fricking moron.

I don't think she could save her life....only prolonged it a little while longer.

No way.

Think about it.

Your wife is terminal and basically her dying wish is to save her baby...and you would fight her over this?

I'd beg her to try and stay with me, yes. I'm not suggesting it's rational.

Maybe, but hard to tell until you are in that situation.

That's the most courageous thing I've ever heard of. Courage in the heat of the moment is awesome. Courage while getting to think about slowly dying and getting to think about it the whole time is on another level

You're a fricking idiot.

Now I'm assuming since it was brain ducking cancer, her prognosis was bleak. If that is true, then I wouldn't have fought her. If it was close to 50/50, then it woulda been an issue

I know, go ahead and downvote.

They didn't indicate that chemo would save her.....
