A black father that is still involved with his kids would probably want his daughter to date a black dude. Same with an Asian father wanting his daughter dating an Asian. It's natural for one to want their grandkids to be like themselves. Doesn't mean you are racist.

Ohhhh woe is me, my parents disowned me because I started dating a lack guy. They took away "my" car and "my" college funds. They even tried to badmouth me to *insert inclusive sounding clubs here* in trying to hurt me. I can't even get a job at all because they took "my" car!

Her just being a spoiled brat who constantly ignores house rules if she doesn't feel like it definitely fits the mode better than her being a racial crusader. The fact that she lives under the same roof implies just an epic level of grounding that because she doesn't feel she deserves, she is going to start a GoFundMe to get around the restrictions of.
I PROMISE you that she is going to use the excess of the first year expenses money to get a new car. But she still won't be able to get a job because "she needs to focus on course work"

I think it has more to do with people not believing this girl had her own personal savings. Lots of kids at 18 start having to pay for shite. I know some guys that had to pay their parents rent once they were 18 and still living at home.

Cut off really just implies financial support. Unless you're including her not having to pay rent or utilities by still living with her parents as financial support.

When I was her age (younger actually), I had a joint account with my parents where I was given money for "covered" expenses.
But the moment I could, I opened an account of my own just so I could do what I wanted to without a parent looking over my shoulder.
Repeatedly emphasizing that it's your own personal savings when it is clearly a joint account should send up red flags.
