If you consider this site right now filled with lefties, what the hell do you consider most of Reddit or twitter? Communists? How about the actual communists that are plentiful in those places?

All of the people I see in this thread are people who are consistently on the OT. What the hell are you blabbering about?

One thing that is not conjecture that you can look back at and see is the security presence BEFORE various events took place. For many marches, rallies, protests, the National Guard was mobilized before the event. For others, a higher security presence was in place before the event. For example, there are images of the National Guard on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in full military gear during the BLM protests this past summer. DC did have some violence and looting, so I'm not fully criticizing that presence. Where was that yesterday? INsurrection and Civil War talk was VERY prevalent on Parler and right-wing discussion boards(even on the Election Board here) in the days and weeks leading up to yesterday. You can't tell me various law enforcement agencies didn't know there was potential for a violent outbreak yesterday. Yet, the Capitol Building was inadequately protected, and there was no National Guard presence anywhere. And it took hours for them to get there once the Capital was ambushed.

Who are you blaming for this?

He’s right about that. They’ve been running rampant on the election board for about a week now. It was really bad for a few days

Maybe not here on the OT, but on the political boards, they’re there for their shits and giggles

He was talking about how "lefties" only show up in these threads on the OT.

I was just pointing out good majority of the people I've seen in this thread today are people are in other places on the OT every other day.

The only thing I haven't seen yet his him starting rambling about how we're all Progs because we don't agree with him.

This is correct. You would have avoided this thread like the plague had BLM been involved.

It never fails.

Sorry, Massah Roger. As someone living in Louisville, I was very much in BLM threads. Matter of fact, helped point out where things were going on here when protests were happening.

Nobody right now. I think it needs to be investigated to determine why there wasn't a larger security presence.

And I'm not blaming Capitol Police. From every video I've seen, they were just outmanned and overwhelmed. It was pretty evident a decision was made to protect the House and Senate staff, and just let them in until reinforcements arrived. If that was in fact the decision made, it likely saved some lives and serious injuries. It is appalling only 13 arrests were made, but I expect that number to massively increase in the next few days.

Ok like I said, the BLM protests and riots at that point had been happening for a while and all over the country. Some of them resulted in violence.

This was more of a sudden thing. It’s not like these people were lining up to clash heavily with the police for at least a week. It was also pretty small scale compared to the BLM ones that were happening everywhere. Like I said it’s likely they didn’t think it would escalate to the point where they would force their way in. I don’t know how many people would have ever thought any group would do that. You can criticize the cops for not being prepared but you want to say it’s because of race and ideological differences.

The poster you're replying to was in a ton of the riot threads over the summer.

So you've definitely got the wrong one in this instance.

You used the little shrug emoji as if you're confused

You said she'd avoid this thread if it was about BLM, and you were wrong.

That seems to be a pretty valid question. We talk about not putting police in a bad position to overreact, but that certainly happened yesterday. National Guard should've been called in preemptively as a presence at the very least.
