We had something similar happen in Shreveport a few years ago.
Some girl was in stop and go traffic headed to a concert in Bossier. She ran into the back of a car on the Jimmie Davis bridge. She decided to post on the neighborhood FB page to get sympathy and try to track down the driver of the truck in front of the car she hit. She claimed he slammed on his brakes for no reason and it resulted in her hitting the car in front of her. She wanted the guy to get charged with hit and run and causing an accident.
Needless to say people tore her a new arse and said it was her fault for following to close and hitting the car in front of her. That the guy in the truck wasn’t responsible for her not paying attention to traffic.
I swear some people are too damn dumb to drive. And I’m starting to think it should be mandatory to take the written exam when you re-new your license.

Plain crazy, but I have to say the cops did a poor job. That woman needed to be detained. She was a danger to the general public

I used to date a head case that rear ended someone, then became very insistent that the person she rear ended was at fault because they stopped too quickly. She tried to teach the reporting officer how the law works. It was all quite miserable.

Your front bumper meets someone elses back bumper parallel to each other when you are going forward, it is always your fault. Doesn't matter if they cut you off. You'd have to hit them in the side for it to be there fault.
