Didn't bother to read through this thread of rubbish, but I did get this little speck of info.

Agnew said the dogs were Stephens', and he suspected they had been bred for fighting

If true, good for the dogs. Hope it hurt a lot for the trash that raises dogs to fight.

If she was breeding the dogs for fighting it wouldn't surprise me if she was doing something else with them.

If she was breeding fighting dogs they wouldn't have been hanging out together in the house when the authorities came. How does nobody catch the bullshite in this article?

I hope i get to fight an out of control pitbull with a knife one day. If I protect my neck I will win, and rid the world of evil.

I’ve been attacked twice by German Shepherds, luckily they were on chains and I was at the outer limits of their range. The dogs were not mine, but in each case it was a friend’s dog, I had been around the dogs before with no incident, to my knowledge the dogs were not abused by their owner, and I was in the presence of the owner. Neither friend could do anything to stop it. It taught me two lessons.
1.) A 200lb man doesn’t stand a chance versus a large dog out to maul you. (It happens so fast)
2.) Don’t own a pet you can’t dominate via physical force if it goes ape shite.

I have never read a single story of Frenchies mauling anyone. Yeah Frenchies!!

That’s ‘cause anyone that would even admit to being “mauled by Frenchies” would be laughed off the planet.

So these are dogs that the cops DONT shoot???
It took them hours to wrangle them up too. Sounds like it would have taken me a min or two to load up some bullets and fire them.

Here's your problem. That's an irresponsible owner.

Dogbites.org is the worst reference you could use. They don't use verified data.

If a male dog attacked you, would it be best to punch/kick/stab his nuts if he clamped down on one of your arms? I think I would let go of something in my mouth if someone grabbed my nut sack and twisted it like a twist tie closing up a garbage bag.

The following is a REAL dog bite study, unlike the bogus and inaccurate data promoted by Coleen Lynn at dogsbite.org.

I have a brindle pit/boxer mix named Hank. My cats did more damage than the 70 lbs. dog. You raise a dog to be aggressive, they will be aggressive. Hank is a big baby. We had "bring your dog to work" yesterday. A friend brings in her massive pitbull, over 100 lbs, his head is gigantic. Mr. Biggles is a sweetheart. Stop hating on the breed. It is sad that trash makes these dogs villains.

Most big dogs of most any breed are great, but they can be scary if they get out of control

Morning Rouge. Agreed, I have been attacked by a Chow and small dogs. Cats as well. If a big dog decides to attack, you are fricked. Like the difference between a house cat turning on you and a tiger. Both animals, one you can swat away, the other will fricking kill you.

Hope you are having a great holiday season. 2018 is gonna be a trip!

If I ever get a dangerous, "trashy" dog I'm going all out. I'm going to get a Husky/Timberwolf hybrid.

I took that to mean she had rescued them after they had been bred for fighting elsewhere, but it is written very vague and shitty.

I’ve seen this referenced a few times on here so let me weigh in.

Responding officers had no way of knowing the dogs killed her at the time. I imagine the scene was pretty messy with blood and DNA everywhere. Could the woman have been murdered and then the dogs picked at her body? Very real possibility

The last thing you want to do on an already messy scene is shoot a couple dogs and add more blood and mess to it.

Not replying to anyone just jumping in.

I think the breed gets a bad rap because they are raised by bad owners.

When they are raised by bad owners, they are certainly dangerous as they are incredibly powerful.

But like another poster said, when I grew up German Shepherds were the "dangerous" breed, along with Doberman pinschers. Unsurprisingly these were the ones that you would often see tied up to a tree with a chain for damn near their entire life.

With that said we just adopted two dogs from CAAWS. One is a pit/dachshund mix and it is very sweet and docile (and goofy looking). The only toys that survive that jaw strength are the nylabones.

Yeah I call BS. Sure maybe a lab would become a lot meaner, maybe some other dogs would too. But dogs have instincts, have you ever tried to get a non retriever to retrieve? Or a non pointer to point? Not all dogs fight like a pit will fight, especially going after necks and faces like they do.
A lab trained for fighting will wreck your ducking world....

I have seen labs raised as pin dogs for hogs and they do a great job

Why did it take hours to "wrangle" the dogs when Fido gets shot by Barney Fife at routine home visits?

This to me is the most shocking part of this story.
