I raised and trained pure bred labs for field trials. I find death attributed to a pure bred lab almost beyond belief unless it was an infant child smothered by an overly loving lab.
Seems oddly like the oft mocked statement of, he was a good boy, he'd never hurt anybody, never showed aggression at all.
Regardless, if the pit bull stats are real, these must be too.

I live in a very rural area and some miles away, some Louisiana hunters lease land and bring their mix pit breeds to hunt.
The first time I found their dogs on my land I drove over and talked to them about it and the second time they showed up I dumped the dead dogs at the end of their driveway.

Dude, we get it. You are that guy. The one that loves pit bulls and so desperately wants others to accept them as a lovable, harmless dog.
Still ain't gonna change our minds about them.

You serious? You pop in with anecdotal, I saw this whole being a nurse bullshite as if that is some end all fact as you witnessing it means it must be changed. We own one dog, my wife’s cockapoo, I just think you all have no basis and simply follow mob mentality, as evidenced by no real response to anything I bring up

The point of that is that while surely other breeds of dogs bite children....the children that had to actually be admitted to the hospital and required surgery...those were majority of the time pit bites.
ALL dogs have the potential to bite. But dogs like pits and rottweilers have jaws that can do a hell of a lot more damage than other breeds.
We show you stats that show that 22 out of 31 dog bite fatalities in 2016 were from pits...and you focus on the 3 that were from lab and lab mixes.
No one is saying other dogs aren't capable of killing people. We are just saying that the stats don't lie...majority of the fatalities/injuries are from pits.

If she was breeding the dogs for fighting it wouldn't surprise me if she was doing something else with them.

Statistics tell you that North Baton Rouge is much more dangerous than South Baton Rouge. Ignore the fact that 93 murders occurred in NBR because 4 murders occurred in South Baton Rouge. So it must be just as bad

I'm not even saying the dogs need to be banned or anything. I just don't think small children need to be anywhere near them...even if it is the family pet.
Yes, all dogs have the potential to snap all of a sudden. Difference is....if my pug snaps at a child they are gonna get a scratch..maybe need a single stitch. A pit....the kid will need a lot more medical attention.

Why did it take hours to "wrangle" the dogs when Fido gets shot by Barney Fife at routine home visits?

We had no pets until my twins were 7. I wouldn't allow them to go to a house with big dogs that I wasn't familiar with

Hmm.. need to ban them too I guess
The overwhelming majority of deaths are Pitts and Pitt mixes. It's not an anomaly.
They don't need to be banned but the stereotype of owners isn't an accident.

Yeah, it's the breed that's the problem here.

Lol...no, you didn’t. But you come off like a badass with that fib, so keep it up.

I can remember a former coworker of mine had to get rid of her english bulldog, that was 7, because he was too aggressive towards the baby. I can remember it broke her heart having to find a new home for her dog...but she didn't have much other choice. Luckily she found a good home for him though.
I know if I have a baby I will do all the stuff they recommend so the dogs get comfortable with them(bring home baby blanket with the baby's smell, etc). Also....the baby will never be left alone with the dogs...not even my pug. Thankfully my dogs are already pretty patient with small children(they have stayed with my sister in law and my young nephew loves them).

My kids got lab pups on their 7th birthday. The dogs are 5 now and it's funny how they attach themselves to one girl or the other. They are awesome dogs but couldn't maul either of my kids like a pit.

Hmm suspected for breeding fighting dogs, owner chick gets mauled, and it’s the dog’s fault. Checks out.

There are a few exceptions to the rule. I've said this before and will again. The dogs are bred and need homes. That was enough for me to adopt one and he is a great dog. Voice and sight certified to be off leash in certain areas through a program here. There is a fairly large population of pitbulls in the area in an affluent place with the highest education rate in the US. No other animals or people are being harmed by those pitbulls. Ignorant people will continue to blame the breed however

Your pits eat melba toast and have exfoliating dates with poodles at their gay dog club while you charge your Tesla. I get it.
