They will, but they are not one and the same. It's like when someone on here asks about their "breaks" squealing or where to get a "break" tag as opposed to brake(s), just one of those things that make me wonder if the person speaking/typing it is dense, ignorant, or both.

Wow. That's one of the most easily recognizable venomous snakes in the snake game.....They keep their same pattern from birth until they die....

Nonvenomous snakes flatten their heads out to look like venomous snakes, and many of the most venomous snakes in the world have mostly rounded heads

Yep, all firearms do. It's located between our ears.

Yeah, I know. It's a cliche'. But it's true.

Got bit by one in boot camp. It was in my shelter half. Hurt like a sumbitch. Got a half day light duty, 800mg motrin and a bottle of water.

I treat all snakes as venomous. Makes it easy for me. I also treat all weeds as if they are poison ivy or oak.

Glocks have no safety. They have three anti-litigation devices.

Reminds me of one of the more comforting experiences of my adult life. First year after graduation, I went on a float trip with some people from work. Among them was a mildly retarded Florida frat boy who fancied himself the crocodile hunter. Even wore a Crocodile Dundee cowboy hat.

We stopped to eat, and he comes walking up with a large banded water snake in his hands. I said to put it down, but he came back with, "Nothing to worry about, not venomous, I can tell it's not a cottonmouth...." I said, yeah, but it will still bite you.

And then boom, on que, that snake struck him on the nose. Bit him again on the hand trying to get if off of his face. Dude was hysterical.

And there was justice in the universe for a few fleeting moments.

Personally, I treat all snakes as venomous, and automatically go the other way if I see one.

Hasn't failed me yet.

Oh really? Is it that button just below the trigger on the handle where you put the clip?

Whether you like it or not this is a safety and it is external. It is there for no other reason than safety.

How do they know to flatten to appear venomous? Did they see another snake and thought to copy them? Are snakes intelligent ?

Baby timbers will have a button at the tip of their tail. Baby rat snakes don't.

Just programmed in them somehow. Rats snakes will vibrate their rattleless tail to make noise. Hog nose puff their head up to look bigger.

What’s worse, this or busting your head open on the Costco teddy bear display?

I don't own one either. I like external hammers.
Glocks don't have safeties

Gaston Glock introduced the Glock 17 in 1982 and it has since become one of the most popular pistols ever made. The Glock 17 lacks a manual safety which the shooter disengages with their thumb. This has greatly added to their acceptance in the shooting world and for good reason.

A loaded Glock pistol is designed to shoot every time the trigger is pulled. It has no mechanical safety device. An armed person in harm’s way is safest when they can deploy their weapon quickly and effectively. The lack of a manually disengaged safety doesn’t make a Glock less safe.

To be clear, Glocks do have safety features built into them. But, every single one of them is disengaged when the trigger is pulled. Glock pistols were smartly designed to be ready to shoot with only one action from the shooter.

Yep. There's a similar tell for copperheads. You can tell them from corn snakes because the tip of a copperhead's tail is always a different color, typically gold or orange. They use it as bait to attract rodents, then strike them.

Saw a tiny orange-tipped tail sticking out from under my kayak last spring, thought it was a baby copperhead. Chopped it off with a shovel, and a big ole sumbich of a copperhead struck at the shovel from underneath the boat. I about pissed myself. The snake died swiftly and terribly, and the kayak got a scar or two.
