I mean the article explicitly stated the baby had toxic levels of meth in it's system. So yeah, I imagine they tested the blood and determined there was enough of the drug present to harm and/or kill the baby.

Yes to both. I look at it as legal vs. illegal. Abortion is currently legal. Taking illegal drugs and killing your child isn't If you don't like it, vote in different politicians who will make changes or run yourself.
FYI: I'm against abortion too, but whether I like it or not, it is legal.

I'm guessing she had zero prenatal care. No telling how long that baby was dead.
As a mom I just cannot wrap my brain around this. How can a drug have so much power over you? This was her fourth *known* pregnancy. Her 3 previous children were adopted.
Where is the father? Why did no one try to help?

There are very few people that set out in life aiming to end up in this woman's situation. For whatever reason, genetics and many other factors, it just grabs some people and not others.
I wouldn't know what to do to this woman. I don't know what's fair for her. I don't think throwing her in prison is really going to solve anything here. It's just a shitty situation top to bottom.
