Woman Attacked By Fake Lyft/Uber Driver After Leaving Tigerland Bar

The attack happened late Tuesday night, around midnight.
Police wouldn't say whether the woman had called for an Uber or a Lyft ride from the bar. The car did have a lighted ride-share placard, but she got into the car without checking its identifying information in the app.
The victim said she was sexually assaulted in a struggle with the driver, and jumped out of the moving car near a gas station on Nicholson Drive near East Boyd Drive. She did not require hospitalization, police said.
No other information about the driver has been released at this time.

Yeah I don't mean to be insensitive, but this is easily avoided. The guy is a POS still though.

Feel like this is an easy fix, for all the idiots who dont check the plates
the second the driver pulls up, both phones flash a random color and number/letters. If they match, you're good

The driver almost always says your name to you when they drive up. I don’t get into a car until I hear that.

i was at a dealership getting service done yesterday and saw a lawyer ad listing his firm as "lyft/uber sexual assault victims" specialist 
we were all laughing at the TV ad and talking about how this guy has a whole business model devoted to chasing victims of this. we all were agreeing can there be more then one or two at the most per year and of those it was always a drunk girl not knowing what car she got into

This seems rare but common with women. Has happened to me twice at LSU in Tigerland.
In my car dropping someone off or leaving and a random chick jumps in my passenger seat "drop me off please". This before Uber or Lyft in the 2000's. No rape occurred.

Damn that's pretty scary. You have to confirm the right car though or you're asking for trouble. Damn shame what happened to that area
