Is the BRPD incompetent or corrupt?
Both. I’m a law abiding citizen and most of my experiences with them have been negative. They basically laughed at my sister (no pics) when she approached them about a stalker who started making dangerous threats. The guy ended up being arrested by the FBI.

Basically the cops made little to no effort to solve the case because the victim was in a bad area etc. this girl doesnt deserve that treatment but it’s likely the mentality of the cops until the shite storm comes.
In the Phar the victim’s dad ran down every lead and made the detectives lives hell until the did something. Had to solve the crime himself as well as taking down a pill factory in the process.

I hate this city and state. From top to bottom, we are the most corrupt, lazy, destitute, inept, backwards, and worthless state in the US

Said bad area is where the city is spending loads of money remodeling and advertising as the "hip" part of the city now tho. They can't play this both ways but they obviously are. "Come spend your time in this rejuvenated part of town that we're begging businesses and people to visit that looks decent", and then officials and BRPD acting like these kinds of acts in that area are to be expected.

I was out at 2am more Thurs, Fri and Sat nights than not when I was 16-23.
Used to hit up Splash on Thursday nights, stayed until it closed down then we would hit up waffle house in port Allen or this old donut shop in Plaquemine and wouldn't get home until 3-330AM..
Or have card games until 2 or 3AM.. Her being out at that time was normal.

My guess is that the higher ups in Baton Rouge do not want to catch the killers...because the killers likely have a long rap sheet, and should not have been on the street, and it will again expose how bad the criminal justice system has gotten in the last two years, and they definitely don't want that knowledge out there with elections on the horizon...sad...
Maybe they should do us all a SMALL favor and at least get the killers off the streets. Of course they can bury the rap sheet and their previous failures to protect and administer justice. The media will gladly look the other way….

Ohhhh. Thx for the correction. It does stay open until 2am.

The victim is my wife's cousin. This was senseless and tragic and so fricking unnecessary. I mean, why did they have to fricking kill her ? What could this kind, gentle soul have done to deserve such an end ? Was it for some paper money, or for her car ? What did they need of hers so badly that they had to murder her for it ?
This is only going to be solved by someone giving the police the information about who did it. Even then I'm not sure the police could solve this crime, even if they knew who did it.

I just saw her dad plead for anybody who knows something to come forward even directly to him on WBRZ. Does he even know about the witness who contacted BRPD?

Exactly! 2am is closing time. A 21 year old girl driving home from a bar at 2:20am is totally normal. It’s totally normal for anyone who just went out. If you go out, you go out. Sometimes you stay until closing time.

Did you hear them say something about the police having surveillance footage of the shooting and an SUV driving away? Could’ve sworn I heard that but I haven’t heard that information before.

There had to be witnesses if there was a train.
I thought that when trains stop for extended periods of time across major thoroughfares that someone with flares or lights would be there for the railroad.

Here's your chance. Kiran is doing all that she can and needs REAL support. The link below is to her patreon page. Or, you can advertise your business with her.
Understand this, WAFB today TOOK DOWN a report quoting the BRPD saying that people can "find an alternate route" if they felt uncomfortable travelling in certain areas. The "historical" media sources are protecting the BRPD from themselves, this is media malpractice!
Kiran is the only real source for true, unfiltered news in our area.
Support her if you can, she's all we've got.

I've noticed that everyone in this thread is automatically believing that the "witness" is credible.
In every high profile murder, police are flooded with "tips", most are bs or people looking for attention.
Has this guy's friend come out to collaborate his story?
Or maybe there is video evidence the police have to disprove what he is saying.
Why is he running to the media so fast? The most obvious answer is he wants attention.
He may be legit, but treat him with skepticism until he's proven so.

Yeah, no. Not in this town.
Long arse trains will stop on that particular set of tracks for long periods with no sign of when they will start moving again. Day or night.
Annoying as frick when you are either heading into work in the morning or returning from a lunch break.
