With a name like margaritaville why are their margaritas so horrible?

why is it so hard to make a decent margarita with fresh ingredients?
granted i haven't been in a couple years but the last time i was there i tried 2 or 3 different types and it was obviously straight out of a mix.
i'm no snob but a good margarita doesn't need 10lbs of sugar or sprite or syrup added to it and when i get one like that i honestly can't drink it.
life is too short to drink shitty margaritas

They are bad. Like really bad. And the food is worse.

Most Mexican restaurants around here use mix too. I can't stand a sugary sweet margarita made with that awful mix.

To keep it consistent, they bottle the shitty Margaritaville mix for use at all locations.

I went to margaritaville in Biloxi a couple weeks ago. Food was good and margs were on point
White cans were still the star of the show though

Last time I was in Baton Rouge I ate at Tio Javi's. I've never had food or drinks that bad in my life.

maybe it got its name because of what the employees say when they wake up on friday mornings?

They order the mix off Amazon.

The Margaritaville location in AZ went out of business.
It was located right next to Cards stadium. Ate there once...not impressed. Margarita was meh as well.

once you had one prepared correctly...or make them at home yourself, the 'mix' margaritas are undrinkable.

AZ has no shortage of really good authentic margaritas.
And yes...you are correct. Only time I'll drink mix margaritas at a restaurant is if they are really cheap for a happy hour special.
Otherwise give me a legit margarita on the rocks with salt on the rim.
You ever had a jalepeno margarita...sounds weird but pretty damn tasty if made correctly.

You've obviously never been to the one in Jamaica. I imagine the quality varies by location though.

I'm not familiar with the establishment that you're talking about, but I would never expect a place with such a lazy, uninspired name to be worth a shite. If they couldn't be bothered to be somewhat original with their name, I wouldn't have any hopes about their product being decent.

Went to the old JB's Margaritaville on Hwy 59 at Fort Morgan Road in Gulf Shores somewhere around '84-'85.
Still got a scrub shirt from there.
Didn't try the Margarita, was into vodka and juice at the time.

Never was a fan of margaritas. Too acidic.
