I'm in Opelousas now at the office, there's a steady frozen rain coming down right now.

I'd have to think St. Landry will close schools since LAF did seeing how there wasn't even sleet in the forecast TOMORROW here.

We usually take the lead of Lafayette.

Euro still on board, Nam going lower in totals but still showing it snowing for us.

I am not focused on totals since we can't be sure it will be all snow nor that it will stick.

I just want the models to still show snow so maybe we can see some falling for a little while. It is so rare around here.

It looks like the Euro came in slightly colder and wetter for the Houston area.

Why are local stations being stubborn, calling it a mix from 4-10 when the NWS is calling for straight snow showers?

probably because they know how the locals react to any mention of snow.

Euro on board less than a day out, that's about as good as it gets here. NAM will fluctuate but it's got the same idea as every other model thus far.

Getting close enough now the weather balloons later today will really paint the picture for us.

ETA:

HRRR getting into range. Note that there is still a nice bit of snow falling at hour 18 when it ends, so those totals would be higher if you go out into the future.
