If Baton Rouge gets 3 inches of snow on top of all this, this thread will go to 5,000 pages

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW ORLEANS LA
425 PM CST MON JAN 27 2014

.SYNOPSIS...

ACTUAL COLD FRONT HAS CLEARED LAND PORTIONS OF THE CWA. COLDER AND
SOMEWHAT DRIER AIR HAS ENTERED THE NORTHERN PORTIONS OF THE AREA.
DEW POINTS HAVE FALLEN INTO THE LOWER 30S AT MCCOMB. DEW POINTS
ARE IN THE TEENS ALONG INTERSTATE 20...AND BELOW ZERO ACROSS
NORTHERN MISSISSIPPI. TEMPERATURES ARE IN THE LOWER AND MID 60S
ACROSS SOUTHEAST SECTIONS RANGING TO THE UPPER 40S AND LOWER 50S
NORTHWEST. NO SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION OCCURRING AT THIS TIME.

&&

.SHORT TERM...

HAVE UPGRADED WINTER STORM WATCH TO WARNING. WILL NOT GET INTO
GREAT DETAIL IN DISCUSSION. COLDER AIR WILL MOVE INTO PLACE
OVERNIGHT AND EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. TIMING OF ONSET OF
PRECIPITATION AND FREEZING TEMPERATURES HAS NOT REALLY CHANGED
SIGNIFICANTLY FROM THE EARLIER FORECAST DISCUSSION. EXPECT WINTER
STORM WARNING CRITERIA TO BE REACHED OR EXCEEDED ACROSS MOST OF
THE AREA...WITH THE POSSIBLE EXCEPTION OF EXTREME LOWER PORTIONS
OF COASTAL PARISHES OF MISSISSIPPI. FORECAST SOUNDING DATA
INDICATES BEGINNING OF PRECIPITATION WILL BE IN LIQUID/FREEZING
FORM WITH PRECIPITATION NOT BECOMING ENTIRELY FROZEN UNTIL THE
LAST FEW HOURS OF THE PRECIPITATION EVENT ON TUESDAY NIGHT.
PREDOMINANT PRECIPITATION TYPES WILL BE FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET
DUE TO THE STRENGTH AND DEPTH OF THE WARM LAYER ABOVE THE ARCTIC
AIRMASS. WHILE WIND...WIND CHILL AND HARD FREEZE CRITERIA WILL
ALSO BE MET...WILL LUMP THEM UNDER THE WINTER STORM WARNING UNTIL
THE PRECIPITATION EVENT IS OVER. HARD FREEZE WARNINGS WILL BE
NECESSARY FOR WEDNESDAY NIGHT ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA.

AS LONGWAVE TROF IS ONLY TRANSITIONING EAST SLOWLY...EXPECT TO
KEEP A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF HIGH CLOUDS ACROSS THE AREA ON
WEDNESDAY. THIS...COMBINED WITH SNOW AND ICE COVER...MEANS
TEMPERATURES WILL STRUGGLE TO GET ABOVE FREEZING ON WEDNESDAY.
EXPECT ANY MELTING WEDNESDAY TO BE RATHER LIMITED...AND LIKELY TO
REFREEZE WEDNESDAY NIGHT. THURSDAY WILL SEE SIGNIFICANTLY WARMER
TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE AREA...BUT HAVE UNDERCUT HIGH TEMPERATURE
GUIDANCE SINCE WE WILL STILL BE MELTING SNOW AND ICE. 35

Exactly what I've been saying. This won't be nearly as bad as everyone is thinking.

Will use 'blue light' strategy from #isaac.

What is this?

I think it means they ride around with their lights on 24/7 and set up shop at a bunch of intersections.

That reads like it's going to be more of an ice event, which is the opposite of what you're saying.
