Get a mini split. Just installed a Pioneer 12k BTU and it runs on 110v. Thing puts out, and has a heat pump. Install isn't hard.

Get bigger than you need
THIS - There's nothing worse than getting the "recommended size" and then you find out it can't handle the heat.

I had a Frigidaire in my bedroom window that just died. It had been in there for eight years. No complaints. I’m also looking at new units to replace it but my new one will either be a floor model, U Shape or a saddle model so it doesn’t block out my view through the window

We are about to buy one of the low profile units for our home office. They sit low in the window so you still have a view .

For sure will be mounted in the wall. Camp is 12 foot off the ground so Im not messing with a mini split. I think Im going to go with the 12k btu midea with heat pump. It says the heat pump wont work below 40 degrees which seems meh

Just a little helping advice.

When you do install one, put a standing floor fan in front of it and it will push that cold air around so freaking efficiently, the camp will cool down extremely fast.

It makes it cold as frick at night and you will love it

I bought a 8,000 BTU earlier this summer to have on hand in case of a storm. I put it in the bedroom one weekend while my wife was out of town so I could sleep with it on 65. I never took it out because I can put a fan in front of it and in the hallway and turn the central air off at night. Keeps the bedroom cold and the rest of the (very small) house at about 74.

I have had an LG from Lowes in my shed (16*24 slab) running 24/7 on 70deg for a year or 2. My shed isn't insulated but it makes it bearable to spend time in it working on something or hitting golf balls. 10k btu

Just go with the window and put in a propane space heater, that's what we use. Two tanks last us all hunting season, and that's with a propane stove/oven.

Does your camp have power or run off of a generator? If you're gonna cut a hole in the side of the camp for an ac, you might as well run 220v.

5 or 6 times the cost, plus it will need serving every few years and take hours to install, including cutting a hole in the wall and many times John Boy HVAC tech doesn't like fooling with them.

I have window shakers that are decades old and still running like new, plus when you need to repair, you just go to Walmarks and spend >$500 on a new one that slides in a like an old man in a bath.

My Midea 12k u-shaped inverter just bit the dust after 2 years. Seems out of refrigerant. If I buy another, it’ll be from Costco with a better return policy.
