You want it a little on the long size as that's how most power people wear them. Trump wears his too long for my taste though. Guess it doesn't matter now cause he can do whatever he wants.

If I wear one, which I detest, it falls to the bottom of my belt buckle. I can not stand skinny, short ties. Pair that with hem falling just above the shoe and pants one size to small and you've got yourself the classic douche suit.
