Will the US ever phase out pennies and Dollar Bills?

I went on a trip to Canada recently and they dont have Candaian Pennies they just round down and they don't have paper money for $1 bills. They use $1 and $2 coins that they call loonies and toonies.

I heard they're getting rid of physical money all together and using chips in your head or right hand. Should save taxpayers millions.

I've wondered for many years why we have pennies, or even nickels. I could do away with all coins except quarters. Not sure I want dollar coins. I usually have a number of singles in my wallet and not sure I'd want to carry around 4-5 coins in their place

It's a catch-22. They have $1 and $2 coins in Australia and there were good things about it but you'll always end up carrying a shite ton of change everywhere.
