Truth, a lot of the EBT kids look like little fat butterballs.

I don't understand how it happens in the first place. I unintentionally lost weight during quarantine and can't seem to gain any back. Didn't realize how hard it is to gain weight...

We also have to stop incentivizing production of corn syrup and enriched grains.
Corn in general. We subsidize mountains of it and sell it for less than it's worth and as a result corn is in every fricking thing. We have the same issue with cheese. We stockpiled thousands of pounds of it at one point but closed the facility in the 80's Since then the government has been hard at work with the industry creating new ways to up Americans cheese consumption. As a result cheese has been transformed from a luxury into a basic ingredient.

*not saying this is the cause of the epidemic but it's a contributing factor

Flyover states are full of people who think 5’10 210 (and not jacked) is healthy. It’s a problem.

Sums it up. This is 40 pounds overweight.

I want to know how many fat shamers on the OT are actually a healthy weight. I definitely am at 5’8 and 128 pounds and exercise 10+ hours a week.
What's the point? Anyone can lie on here, including you. Though I'd agree that the OT seems to be remarkably fit judging by the responses.

I'm sure they'll find a magic pill eventually. Until then ... no. Unless it's a generational thing. I have nephews that are active and thin, time will tell if they're obese by high school or not.

I was their size in elementary school before ballooning up to 150+ in 5th and 6th grade. 5'10" 180-190 lbs. by 8th grade. Got that big Restricted R on my helmet in football. I wonder if I would have been that size if I never played football and was not encouraged to stay heavy to play offensive line. Same thing for high school. "I don't need to lose weight, I need that weight to play guard."

I've been 250+ since college. Peaked at 285 sophomore year. Recently, I managed to get down to 255-260 with fasting and playing rugby, then Covid hit and shut everything down. I've accepted that I'll likely never see the below side of 200 lbs again, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't try to get there over time.

At some point, probably, but not now. It is a mental problem that won't be solved by this generation. They must be mentally strong enough to eat healthy smaller portions and to exercise more, yet they will not. They have to hire personal trainers to make them exercise. Idiots.

Probably about the same time the alcohol and drug epidemics are solved.
