Yet you aren't the conspiracy theorists

You want to explain why tweeting stuff about Pete Davidson gets you kicked off an award show you are nominated multiple awards for but literally assaulting a man on stage on live TV seems to be okay?

Because it's fake.

I can't believe how many people are shocked that one of the most recognizable people in the business gets special treatment at an event sucking off people in that business

I'm not shocked that Hollywood has a "do as I say, not as I do," attitude, just that anyone else in that situation would've either never made it to the stage, or been thrown in handcuffs and dragged out of there afterwards.

Whether that means it was planned or not I don't know, but the hypocrisy from those folks is absurd.

It may be absurd, but it certainly isn't anything new.

I am a bit curious as to why security let him waltz on stage, go back to his seat, and continue to shout from the crowd.

I don't watch the Oscars, and I won't watch them next year, but I will certainly keep an eye on Twitter for future Oscar fight videos.

You can walk on stage, assault someone, return to you seat, curse loudly...and later receive a standing ovation. No consequences. Precedent is established.

Rocks reaction seemed surprised and the only thing he could say was what happened, if it were staged there should have been a joke inserted. But instead it was just angry yelling by the fresh prince. And I get why people might think it’s fake because of the result (people are talking about it). But you could have had something a bit less confrontational and awkward than what we saw. Either way it was weird.

Agreed

One ha nothing to do with the other

And even if they do, one was done in the heat of the moment during the show, the other was done ahead of time by someone that has had "controversial" takes.

Because like yourself, some people are prone to cheap propaganda.

Chris Rock looks exactly like how someone would look bracing for a free slap right before.

Hollywood has been pushing equality for a long time. They would not hand him that award after assaulting someone in front of the world unless it was staged.

It's painfully obvious. He even thanked the academy later

He slapped Chris Rock 30 minutes before the winner was announced. The voters sent in their votes weeks prior. They weren’t just going to not give the award to anyone this year or change the rules and give it to Denzel or Benedict Cumberbatch within half an hour.

How about not handing the "best actor" award to a guy slapping people moments earlier on stage (a crime) ?

Oh, it's the "heat of the moment" (much time later)

Give me a fricking break

And it was a short slap at that.

the LAPD is doing nothing but “investigating” while no charges are being filed.
Can they even file charges when the victim doesn't want to press charges and/or refuses to cooperate with LAPD investigators, especially since it wasn't a domestic situation?

All Chris Rock has to say is that it was staged and that's the end of it because LAPD wouldn't be able to prove otherwise.
