@chickforet "I didn't see any appellate issues. To me, there was no apparent reversable error. This verdict will stick on appeal.

Hayes fricked by testifying WS shot at him. No evidence at all to show that.
He should have left that out and relied more on WS saying he was going to get his gun.
Dumb dumb on his part to testify in such a way.
Might have saved him 40yrs in Angola.

Felony version. Aggravated assault with a firearm.

Great so we put his kids onto the welfare roll now too. Locking people up for long periods isn't always the answer either.

Yes it is. The crime was committed with a gun so it makes it a felony

Sean Payton wants none of this

Guilty of Manslaughter, Att. Manslaughter.........
Good outcome. Seems like everyone loses on this one.

Thanks for your legal analysis throughout this trial.
How did they only get manslaughter on this IYO? Seems like the facts were well in the prosecution's favor for whatever they asked for.

It's "Aggravated Assault with a Firearm" then. If you simply say Aggravated Assault then that's a misdemeanor.

Agree. But not enough time for CH to sufficiently cool off from jackass Hernandez and a seriously angry man at the time confronting him
perhaps. Hard to say what they were thinking. I honestly thought he would get off if someone credible would say that will smith said gun. Crazy thing is we have a video of someone on the scene 5 min after it happened saying that both guys said gun. Also, his crazy story on the stand didnt help as well as the inconsistencies between him and oneal.
