If its regional, I'm assuming TX would have slowdowns as well. Why would the sherwood forest be a higher grade asphalt than Highland Road?

I'm just telling you that some contractors are in some shite b/c that was their primary source of material. I imagine many others in the area are making do.

Yet they find plenty of asphalt to complete other projects.

From what I have heard Barriere Construction is the paving subcontractor and they are possibly using the river stage as an excuse to delay the project because they got a little over booked.

Barriere has also done a piss-poor job on the Bluebonnet job. They poured asphalt before they had poured some of the curbs they removed. Several really stupid sequencing decisions were made on that one.

The shenanigans they did with the lane shifts near I-10 caused a cluster frick and then they changed them back to the way they were previously when they paved it.

Raiford says crews are using a special type of asphalt that’s only available in Arkansas.

So I’m suppose to believe that Arkansas is the ONLY place where high quality asphalt can be obtained? If so, who’s asphalt is that!

I personally now avoid Sherwood where as before I traveled it at least once a day. Often doing business with a gun smith, a couple of restaurants & a pool supply. None of which now see any of my $. Plus I now drive farther burning more gas to get these things.

The asphalt being used is coming from up north via the river. Can’t come down until the river goes down.
It has to be this specific type of asphalt because it’s shelf life is 10-15 years longer than the regular.

*the above told to me by an elected official of public office

It’s payback for St George. If you don’t suckle from the mayors teet you can expect delays from now on.

I’ve heard this same story for months. Why can’t it be transported any other way. That act of god argument won’t hold up in court. Get ready to pay the penalties.
