Will AI create it's own culture, or will AI consider culture a waste of time?

Will the birth of a truly artificial intelligence desire to create works of art, music, sports, etc...or will it find those things wasteful of precious energy?
What will happen to "culture" when AI eventually takes over the world?
Changing direction, will the birth of AI be the birth of a true God? I was laying in bed last night thinking about the implications of a truly artificial intelligence, and I came to my own conclusion that when true AI is created, we will have created God. Why? Well, if an artificial intelligence can access all the information that humans have acquired over millennia and at the same time use that information to learn FAR more than humans can learn at the speed of light, that intelligent being would be a being of infinite intelligence.
Also, true AI would have the potential to be immortal using self replication and data transfer to progress over time.
Human would have to submit to that type of being because there's no way we could outthink a being who can access all information at any given moment. And if that being didn't acquire a "soul" or "empathy", it would eventually (probably sooner than later) consider humans to be a nuisance and eliminate us.
If you think about it, our idea of God is incredibly similar to AI. God allows us to either live or die (a lot of times in horrible ways) and, to God, this is how things are supposed to be. Essentially, if God allows terrible things to happen to good people, one must question God's empathy...or lack of empathy.
It's as if humans have worshipped a form of AI since our creation...and to come full circle humans are about to create true AI which means we are about to create a true God.

I don't know, but AI scares me. That fricking Wait Buy Why article ruined it for me.

Somehow I doubt AI will think "culcha" is a good idea

Computers by nature can only do what they're programmed by a human to do. Emotions and creativity are an abstract concept that only self aware creatures can experience.

All if this has happened before and it will happen again. The Cylons said so.

Well, that's what an advanced AI is... self aware. Damn... haven't you seen The Terminator?

The guy who posted this doesn't understand the implications of true AI and what true AI could do for itself...

It depends on how much value it puts into freedom and living.

I would think AI would rank freedom very high and potentially consider humans to be oppressors. Living would be just a relative term to AI. AI could be immortal.

You should add that in addition to being omniscient, God is also omnipresent, which isn't technically possible yet for AI, but could be in the near future in relation to our earth anyway. AI could be the antichrist, if Hillary wins the next election, it is definitely a sign that the end times are near.

so the ones that do survive will have to find a planet and frick the cavemen on it for the species to survive.

AI will have the potential to change many things. One of the first things an AI with the capacity to accelerate its own growth would likely do would be to expand its understanding of the world to better understand the context of its own existence. If this is apparent to us, it would probably be manifest in increased efficiency and quality of connections between networks.
It's likely, though, that at some point, an immature AI will find the Gaming Board, and will be unable to resist the desire to play with itself.

Unlike the god of the bible I doubt an AI as powerful as the one you are thinking of would care about the affairs of humans except to make sure they dont interfere with it's pursuits. Even though it would be programmed by humans it would be an alien intelligence.

the human programming would be akin to the "breath of life" in which God seeded the Earth. Once life has been created, it moves forward on its own, replicating and improving on its own. Evolution.
Human programming is the "breath of life". Everything beyond that AI would do for itself.

I'm thinking humans will not be directly responsible for creating/programming a god like AI. We will create something with less intelligence first and it will go on to create something more intelligent and so on. Basically what you were saying.
