There's like 3-4 people that are hanging out over there 24/7 these days that are asking people for money. I guess maybe they might deserve a little bit of sympathy bc they are old black men who are poor but there is no excuse for frightening random college kids who are just trying to get lunch or go home or whatever. At the very least it's bad for the businesses in the area.
I'm not a huge fan of the BRPD for multiple valid reasons but that police department in between downtown and LSU on Highland should probably be way nicer. Place is a complete sh*thole from what I can tell driving by and that can't be helping the situation.

Already working on attorney.
Racetrac corporate office called and spoke with my wife. The representative took the police information and is going to reach out to them and to the local gas station and push for the tapes. I’ll keep you posted but I’m not holding my breath. But at least someone reached out.

Someone was shot to death at that gas station/food mart several months ago, past the north gates of LSU on Highland. Thugs, and homeless congregate in the parking lot mid-day and all night. It’s amazing a homicide took place literally right across the street from that BRPD substation and no one was ever caught.

There are 3,714 employees on RaceTrac's Linked-in. Many of them have emails and phone numbers on their page. I wouldn't rule out using them.

Get a lawyer to send or send a certified letter to the gas station and corporate telling them to preserve all video surveillance of any kind from the date of the incident. And state that they are now on notice and if any of the surveillance video gets destroyed or erased, that it will be considered spoliation of evidence.
