Whole lotta trash in this story. Also Fox News can't divide by 100 apparently.
quote:
The wife of U-Haul billionaire Joe Shoen allegedly dumped several sick Rottweilers on a pet-adoption charity -- and the couple agreed to pay for the dogs' medical costs only after a nasty text and social media feud with the charity's operator, according to a report.
quote:
When Joe Shoen stepped in to take the dogs back, as Froehlich had previously suggested, the charity owner turned back on her offer allegedly concerned over the dogs’ health at the Schoen house, the paper reported. Joe Shoen told the Arizona Republic that he was “perplexed” by Froehlich’s decision. He asserted that the dogs had good homes with him and was unsure where the “worms” came from.

Ever notice that the more money someone has, the trashier they are?

Have to admit I was a little shocked to see what Sylvia Schoen looked like.

The whole family is trashy....

Family squabbling over the U-Haul empire turned to physical confrontations between some of his children at company meetings, even before the 1986 takeover.

I saw research work from a sociologist once that made a pretty good case for a person's ethics declining as they got more power.

I kind of figured this was a well-established fact, just based on observation.

If you are remembering the prisoner/prison guard experiment at Stanford, it just got totally discredited.

I had three, yes 3 completely awful experiences using Uhaul in my past...summary of each:
1) tried to give me a truck that needed an oil change and would barely start; would not swap out;
2) rented me a truck from a place that was closed on a Sunday for moving;
3) had me drop off a truck at a location; then, an irate owner of the store calls and blows up my phone threatening me to come back and get the truck because he’s no longer doing business with uhaul. Uhaul then ignored me.
Hate that company.

As a dog lover I side with the rescue org, but just barely. All parties involved seem like people that I would want to punch in the face.
