I have never been this sad in my life. My daughter is in the middle of tests at LSU and I hate that she has to deal with this, but she loves that dog more than anything. She wants to come home so she can be here.

Hardest part has been knowing "when." Any of y'all dealt with this lately? Any advice?

Man that sucks. Sorry to hear that. You made the right call though. It's hard, but if the dog is in pain, you gotta let them go.

Put down my 13 year old bulldog 2 months ago. I knew it was time when she didn’t even try to fight me picking her up. Sucked. She was solid white with baby blue eyes.

Good luck.

Worst thing to have to go through as a pet owner. We had a vet come to our house to do it. Fed our old guy bacon with lots of hugs and kisses as it was being done. He was happier than could be, but his hips were completely out of socket and he could no longer stand. Being at home was way better to us than driving him to our vet. I could only wish to go so peacefully. If you think it's time then it's probably time.

Go to the pound on your way home from the vet and adopt a puppy.

There’s a ton of them that need to be sprung.

It's tough. shite breaks your heart. I cried like a baby when we put ours down.

Try to remember how good he/she had it.

Put down my 13 year old Sheltie in May 2016. Nothing makes it easy, so I won’t pretend that there is something that will. Just know that you’re doing the dog a favor by putting an end to its pain. Love on it as much as you can before you take it to the vet and always cherish the great memories.

God bless.

Never gets easy. Their lifelong friendship and companionship is so worth the pain in the end. Animals truly bring joy to us as humans. You never feel alone.

I've had to do it three times and it is simply brutal. I'll be honest I am tearing up now. Do those special things they love beforehand and know you are doing the right thing.

11 year old yellow lab. He has a cyst on his pancreas and a big one on his spleen. Wife is convinced he has cancer but no proof. He can't keep food down. Vomits and has diarrhea. Has lost 25 lbs (110 six months ago, now 85). Lays in one spot all day.

It's time.

Truth. Mine are almost 6 and just over 4 and I can't even think about when those days come, but I love every day with them

It's terrible, tough on everybody involved. Just remember that dog had a great life because of the people that loved on it, which is your family. It's terrible, but try your best to be thankful you had a great bond at all.

Sad man. My dog is 12 and getting up in years. Gonna suck seeing our kids have to deal with that when her time comes.
