Catahoula cur will stick with you no matter what, but they do not do well with other animals in the house as they are Alpha dog. They will protect the house by all means and are great with children. My SO and I just got one and he's already treeing squirrels at 5 months old. Dudes already 43 lbs!

Our's isn't crazy at all - he's a big lazy cuddlebug.

Well, his owner passed on (a grand aunt), that probably had something to do with it.

If you would like your house torn apart, then by all means, get a weimaraner. I've never seen a more destructive animal than a weimaraner.

Just like any other dog, you hear Horror stories but I have a weim who just turned 10 and is the best dog I have ever had. Easy to train, listens, sweet, and well mannered. He has chewd a few item over the years but nothing extreme. I did have him crate trained from the day I got him though. He was always In a kennel when we were not at home but for some reason the move fricked him up. New house and he would just Howl the entire time he was I. There and he had never done this previously. I left him out one day to go to the store and his fat arse was sleeping on the couch when I got back. Since then, he stays out.

I can tell you that they are very needy dogs. They will be your Shaddow and under your feet all the time. Love the outdoors and love to run. When my wife got pregnant, we were worried how he would do. From day one, he has always protected and licked my son every chance he got. Still best friends till this day.

The only thing I was warned of is if they are left outside, esp In the summer, they can get sun burnt.

I've never heard of someone who had a Yorkie that didn't want another one. They are perfect.

My 5mth old German Wirehair pointer. Should get to about 65-75lbs with a light shed a couple times a year. very loyal and very smart and doesn't leave my side. extremely athletic, great with other dogs and people. He will be retrieving birds for me soon. A lot of energy but he calms down when he knows I need him to.

Sucks that you're looking for a small dog because a Newfoundland pup is one of the best dogs you can get for children. They're awesome. We just got a kitten, but when I move to Seattle next year, we're definitely going to get a Newfoundland pup. They're super chill, love to help, and they're insanely fun to have around.

I may be wrong, but aren't they very prideful, intense little creatures? I'm pretty sure I've read that the personalities of Yorkies and Westies are both based heavily on establishing yourself as the boss very early. It's the same way with Shibas. If you don't put your foot down early, they'll Shiba Scream at your arse until you do what the boss tells you to.

We have a Airedale Terrier and she is great with our two girls (2 & 4). They just take awhile to mature.
