I’m heading to a funeral later this week.

He’s the 2nd person I have personally known who has died from COVID or complications brought on by COVID.

In my previous days on this earth, I have known no one personally who has died from the regular flu.

I’m not saying everyone go get vaccinated (I am not getting either these any time soon) but the threat of death for some is there, so I can see why they would take one of the vaccines:

But I thin on your definition of anti-vaxxers is rooted in bigotry.

How’s it irrelevant

Because my post and the post I was responding to has nothing to do with choice. The "because it's his choice" response was completely irrelevant.

This is logical. Those in need of additional protection should probably get the vaccine.

Ridiculing folks who you disagree with on vaccinations and labeling them anti-vaxxers to dismiss their perspective is the definition of bigotry.

I got vaccinated. I completely understand why other rational, intelligent people have not. You don’t?

Wrong and one of the worlds leading German virologists agrees with me, Covid is about as bad as it can get and was most likely made in the Wuhan Lab, so just about any mutation will probably be a net gain for us.

Assuming he is a competent virologist you misunderstood or misinterpreted him. From a cellular biology POV no virus is ever as "bad as it can get" any mutation can be worse or better for its host. Once the lab relinquishes control of the virus either by accident or on purpose the laws of nature take over. The idea that a virus can ever reach a evolutionary wall is just silly.

That's quite a loose definition. Whatever, english is flexible. And you are free to label me a bigot if it helps you to dismiss my perspective.

To be fair women representing nearly 60% of all vaccinations in the US also stems from the fact women make up a larger share of the over 70 demographic.

But yes, the massive gender gap in vaccinations rates absolutely stems from men being afraid to confront their own fraility and present a major obstacle to ending the pandemic. Is that at all a controversial thing to say?

To your other question, when everyone in an at risk group for covid is vaccinated we will hope next year’s version of the vaccine is effective against the variants continuing to transmit throughout the unvaccinated populations across the globe. Of course not everyone in the at risk groups can get vaccinated and that is a main reason you should vaccinate yourself if you can.

Why do people get the flu vaccine?

Because getting really sick really sucks.

99.6% if you get it.

So many people assume 100% of population will catch it.

If you can’t even try to empathize then please explain what happens when all of those at-risk of covid are vaccinated?

Cause folks who cry mutations are largely uninformed and are generally just trying to perpetuate this hysteria so they can compensate for their own inadequacies by impressing friends and neighbors with their knowledge and feelings about a mostly existential issue.
