Why would a smoke alarm go off if there’s no smoke?

It’s not chirping like a battery is low. It’s not a carbon monoxide detector.
Is it ghosts?

It's possibly a heat detector if it's in a kitchen area.

Because it's a shitty smoke detector.

They have a life span on them. Check for a date.

my alarms were so sensitive, I had to take them down.
I hope my house doesn't burn down.
ETA: They were brand new as well. (New House Brag)

Beautiful woman passed under it? The mythological smoke show.

Dust on sensor. Vacuum or canned air.

My smoke alarms often go off when I run the heat for the first time...dust burning in the furnace trips the smoke alarms.

most are dual purpose and also read carbon monoxide as well, doing a lot of cooking can set those off
other then that, could just be a lot of dust on the sensor so take it down and blow it out with air hose or can of air

I had this issue too. As the wife and I were upgrading things around the house, we purchased some brand new smoke/carbon alarms. Install and test was easy. After about a month, that fricker starts going off in the middle of the night. I cleaned it out, re-installed. Next night, same thing.
frick that. We don’t have a gas leak, otherwise I’d be dead by now.

Had the same thing happen at my house. Turns out those things have a lifespan and you have to replace them every now and then.

They get more sensitive as time goes on and they get “dirtier”

Probably just going bad or you may have gotten some dust in it

Yes.

I replaced mine with Nest Protects - some of the best money I've ever spent - they are so much better than the typical smoke detector and carbon monoxide sensors in them too.
