I personaly think women cheat more because of an emotional response than a man would.
By that I mean, a wife who feels she has not been given attention, especially after kids, is far prone to have a fling.
I think a guy is just more to be drunk and say frick it. (not that a woman wouldn't do the same)
I will also say that I have recently seen what a newly sepertated woman with kids has done. I'm just an observer of this from the outside.
She has wasted no time in getting back into the scene and whatnot. It was pretty striking to see.
People are funny. Men or women really.

Seriously, what do you need defending from? fricking dinosaurs?! Let me guess...your SO is tall and attractive...that's it! Has nothing to do with "protection"...it's all about looks. Which means women are just as superficial as men...and even more so. Guess what cupcake, I'm guessing you're 20's...once you hit late 20's-early 30's , your "best friend", that won't marry you, is going to trade you in for a newer model.
If Mr. Perfect was 5'6" and had a dad bod, but had the EXACT same personality, would you have even given him a chance?! ...No is the answer.
