I knocked up my wife before we got married. My father in law didn't like me for a decade.

In the 50s, if someone got pregnant in high school or unmarried, they stopped taking to that person. It was literally the scarlet letter. Sleeping around wasn’t culturally accepted openly.
So are you one of those folks that thinks we should go back to how the 50s were?
The same decade where black people couldn't enjoy the same things as white people? Where segregation was still a normal thing and white people actually thought a decent thing? Where an interracial couple could never be seen in public? Where gay people had to hide who they are for fear of being arrested or even killed? Where an unmarried woman couldn't apply for a loan unless a man cosigned for her(because silly women don't know anything about numbers)? Where domestic abuse wasn't really prosecuted and a cop would just tell the man to "go easier on her next time"?

i think he was clearly saying that was way too harsh but that we've swung way too far away from that
hence the next line
Now we agreed, shaming is not love, but acceptance is not OK either.

I was there I saw it happen. The deliberate Godless destruction of the basic unit of society.......the traditional family. When they succeeded in purging God from the culture.....the vacuum created was filled by multiple hedonistic gods.....LGBT, hookup sex culture, drugs, government, pornography, atheistic intelligentsia.
Prior to this collapse, across the board, America had something to hold the culture together.......we call that binding effect Judeo Christian values. Beginning on January 22, 1973 the pro-death, pro-abortion progressive liberals have slowly eroded those values and in its place have installed the god of Moral Relativism and Subjectivism. What has resulted from that today is increasing chaos, with bands of demonic thugs roaming the streets brutally assaulting innocent people, shooting our public servants including our police, and destroying public property. Those in power not only refuse to hold these demons accountable......they encourage them.
Now we hear verifiable reports, by multiple witnesses, of strange demonic looking creatures "Mothman" lurking around Chicago. Not surprising, since Chicago has become a killing field with rampant violence. A veritable hell on earth. A comfortable place for satan and his hellish demons. Scary stuff.
So the question for me. Will November 3, 2020 prove to be the final nail in the coffin for civility and our once great experiment in self-government? We shall see.
We should all pray to the God of Abraham to rescue us.

to use what nurse said, we are all sinners, sure. but there is a difference in saying "i am a sinner because..." and really getting into the details of our behaviors and saying "i am a sinner" as a general, vague concept that involves no self-reflection or criticism
Agreed. Not only is there no self reflection but often times its used to condone the sin.
Everybody sins so therefore it is ok to sin.

if you want to know one REALLY big reason cultural Marxism has allowed to spread, here you go:

That's not how I take it. I take it as....before I start judging the sins of others I need to take a really long hard look at myself first. And maybe focus more on my own sins and how I'm repenting from them to grow closer in my walk with Christ....than getting caught up in the sins of others and what they are doing.

exactly. it's a cop out

that's a good way to do it
the problem is almost NOBODY else does that
there is a reason feely-goody churches have exploded the past 10 years. they remove that sort of personal inventory and accountability

I don’t think you’ll ever be able to trick the lower class into supporting Marxism.
They’re too smart for that.

The roots of this go much farther back than 1973, although that has become one of the darkest days for this nation. They have played a long game. :(

I don’t think they’ll last, because they don’t fill that spiritual void in people’s souls. At best, they make Parishioners feel comfortable with their sin.

Are you your brothers keeper?
We should help people turn away from sin not turn a blind eye to it
