I could say a few things regarding that, but would probaby get banned for it. I think you get the picture though. Anyway, not everyone is poor for that matter.

Honestly, while I am all for people making as much money as possible, I do not think it is healthy for Louisiana to depend, as much as it does, on the oil & gas industry. If there were other major industry in La, it would help the class gap so I think it is healthy for us to think beyond oil & gas, the medical industry and tourism.

The O&G industry has a range of jobs that are available to all classes of people. From office jobs for college educated people to field jobs and refinery jobs that have lower education requirements. But a lot of these jobs require some level of risk and all require you to be a hard worker and sometimes put in long hours. Unfortunately not everyone in today's society can handle busting their arse and potentially putting their safety at risk.

I don’t know about move away from, but think of another industry besides oil and gas to center your economy on, without question, but they won’t. This is a,very hard headed people, and they don’t take kindly to the concept of change very easily.

Also keep in mind these companies have ZERO problem calling in a MILITARY SECURITY COMPANY to wage WAR against anyone who tries to come against them.

They have ZERO problems stealing land from impoverished areas to run pipelines that leak and ruin waterways and cause deadly illness and cancers

You're obviously a Liberal. I'm assuming that this "military security company" was created by Trump to stop people from waging war against oil companies. You stupid fricks couldn't live without oil, and you love to bash the industry that gives you all of the modern conveniences that you take for granted. It's fricking pathetic how people condem the industry while benefiting from it.

Also, where are these leaking pipelines that you speak of? You have no idea how strict our government is when it comes to shite like that. If an oil or natural gas pipeline leak causes cancer, we are all fricked. It doesn't get less deadly when it gets to your gas pump. Pipelines are inspected routinely by helicopter or plane and have pressure sensors that will alarm if there is a loss of pressure due to a leak.

Can we discuss this please instead of the OP's jealousy of two rich guys.

You would probably have been better off if you Dad was a dish washer at Denny's.

The better lifestyle you have enjoyed because of oil and gas has obviously been wasted.

When I think of things I was exposed to in my life that felt “wrong” or “very not normal” but I couldn’t put a finger on why two examples come to mind: One of my dad’s work colleagues that lives in BR had a wife who couldn’t even speak English. They lived in a pretty remote part of BR with a helipad in their yard. She also had a young child that he didn’t interact with at all. Another of my dad’s work colleagues had multiple “trophy houses”. One is 5,000 square feet filled with animals he has killed. Giraffes, Buffalo, lions... it puts Cabelas and Bass Pro to shame. Exotic hunting excursions in TX (where they hunt imported animals) are a regular part of life. When I speak about moving away from the oil and natural gas industry, there are so many reasons why that I can’t even articulate it. The culture is hidden... unless you REALLY get in it... and it is gross.

If these statements seemed like a coherent line of thought at the time you were writing them, there is a good chance you have suffered a stroke, get CT scan and see a neurologist.
