Ever’body talkin’ ‘bout the Seventh Son/
In the whole wide world there is only one

—I think it’s because when he left for great fame and fortune, he never came back, didn’t give back to the community.

He did not live his adult life in BR being seen in the community like Elvis was in Memphis.

You have a lot of great artist some locally known some well known that lived in BR.
- Percy Slege
Was not born here while he did live his adult life here
- The band named “Leroux” formed in Baton Rouge
- John Fred
-Kyper the rapper
- Boosie the OT’s hero
- Randy Jackson
The people or bands named above were musicians from or lived in the BR area.

Elvis, was not from Memphis.
He just lived in Memphis during a good portion of his adult life and was part of the town.

Maybe he's put off by the natives' shitty command of the English language?

So you’re saying he IS the King of Baton Rouge?

Do you have a problem with that?

He went to Baton Rouge High. He lives in California. He was one the first musicians that retained rights to his songs. He comes back and does benefit concerts for the Baton Rouge High radio station every couple years.

don't know about his jr hi football, I recall he got booted from BRHS for riding his motorcycle down the hall while school was in session. I believe he has relatives living in Zachary. I know his dad worked for LSU graphics dept or something like that.

As a kid I was told he was a good halfback. Set records at Westdale. Don’t know if it’s true though. Trying to find out. Rivers is several years older than me.
