We have lottery, Powerball, Draft Kings, local casino’s etc. I used to enjoy Full Tilt Poker and Poker Stars. I just don’t understand what is the problem

It’s too easy for people to team up and cheat for one.

Outside of sports, I couldn’t imagine being a big enough addict to gamble and lose money online when things can be so manipulated behind the scenes.

I'm not sure about now but back about 10-15 years ago they uncovered that all the sites were running scams.

You thought you were playing against other players but it was all AI or computers. One of my neighbors got caught up in it with promises of trips to Vegas etc etc , he was in his garage every night playing for hours .

No telling how much money he lost

On April 15, 2011, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York seized and shut down Pokerstars.com and several of its competitors' sites, alleging that the sites were violating federal bank fraud and money laundering laws.

It is in a few states. There are also some gray area sites like global poker that circumvent the law using BS sweepstakes cash rules. I honestly don’t know why it isn’t legal and regulated across the whole US.

And none of your business or the government’s. They should have no say in what adults do with their money.

Way too easy to scam...

Do y’all realize how bad easy access to gambling is hollowing out our society? Sports betting and the like prey on dumb people with poor self control and make it to where they can never get ahead in life. Unfortunately dumb people with no self control is like 80% of America

They eventually have to get government assistance, which I pay for

Before they shut all the online poker websites down, it was probably saving me money

I'd play tournaments with entry fees in the $2-5 range after work on evenings where I didn't have anything else going on. I was single with no kids at that time, so spending a couple bucks playing 1 or 2 of those tournaments at home in the evening was a lot cheaper than most other forms of entertainment.

AI has been around much longer than that. You are confusing Gen AI with AI.
