When VH1 did their 100 best hard rock bands, they had Nirvana in front of Metallica, was bull crap.

The city and state have nothing to do with Copyright Laws or whether or not it is considered porn.

I am a 90's girl and I think Nirvana sucks. Crucify me, it's ok.

If you're offended by that, I suggest you never view the original Blind Faith album cover.

Always does my heart good to see people with obviously nonexistent taste in art and music rant about how my favorites are terrible (or "overrated" which is the passive-aggressive way of saying terrible). I just wish all the chaff had stayed out of the wheat back when it mattered.

Why do they have to either be great or shite? I like some, not all of their music. They were a pretty good bad that became mainstream And because they were one of the first alternative rock bands to become mainstream they will get recognized.

One, VH1 sucks. Two, Nirvana is better than Metallica. Metallica has some good stuff, but a lot of their music is just bad. I would say their good is really good, their bad is REALLY bad. Nirvana's catalog is better top to bottom.

I can agree with this. Metallica has some really good songs, but there is a big gap between their really good songs and their next level songs.

Well there is a really long difference in career lengths. Metallica has had 35 years to "evolve" and get lazy and shitty, Nirvana did not.

Yeah, but even when they peaked.. And this is just my opinion.. With albums like Masters of Puppets, self titled Metallica.. I would only listen to several songs on those albums, but I remember listening to two Nirvana albums. nevermind and the one after that, can't think of the name of it right now, but I could put them on and just let them play.

I never really listened to much of their music before Nevermind.

It was released at a time when common sense still prevailed and outrage was legitimately outrage, not just virtue signaling. It wasn't actually pornographic so nobody gave a shite, as they shouldn't.

Sorry man

You are factually wrong

I’m not a big fan of the actual music but some of it is good.

Kurt Cobain has a very very good voice and Dave Grohl went on to make a band half as good and be just as successful

They’re like the Beatles. You don’t have to appreciate the music but they were the embodiment of a generational shift in music. Whether you like it or not. They changed music.

Although they are remembered more fondly because they ended before they could descend into mediocrity. Which is what some say is the fear that drove Cobain to suicide. The man who tossed out slick soulless 80s late wave pop and hair band shredding arena rock and roll to dirty grungy crunchy rock about feelings who hated the whole “let’s write a record to make tons of cash” studio structure seeing his band being hocked into the mainstream.
