A lot of valid points here. The employment pool is the worst though. We were looking at starting another franchise or opening a location in the fq again. No one wanted to deal with the headaches

It's not like there's an abundance of great local offerings keeping them out either.
Is you serious

This is like going to Yellowstone and complaining about a lack of high rise apartments

Isn’t this common of most downtown/metro areas with limited foot traffic? You either need a drive-thru option or high volume of pedestrians.
Atlanta is very much the same way.

How do you think you know so much about Nola eating out habits?

I'd agree that Whataburger is strong enough to come into the market and do fine regardless. Could see Zaxbys on the north shore possibly. Jack in the box is trash you'd eat when drunk and Freddy's is alright but not anything I'd go out of my way for. Would quite like to see a Newks or Schlotzskys.
Clearview Mall renovations might bring in some new to market stuff. That's about all that remains on the south shore of areas that combine decent enough demographics, enough passing trade and an opportunity of available land parcels/real estate.
Let's not kid ourselves that Buds Broilers or New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood Co are fighting off the competition tooth and nail. The standard of food fare in the city versus the suburbs is markedly different IMO.

Because we have real restaurants.

Sure, but there was a Royal Castle at Carrollton and Hampson before that.
I forgot about that place.. Another place we would go was the Frostop on Claiborne.. It's still there and was a big place for my older siblings to hang out in high school and into college. We even had super 8 movies of them in there goofing around..

I had a Physics teacher who for second period would offer to hold class at Frostop and offer to buy everyone breakfast - but only if they're breakfast consisted only of coffee. Generally, the mornings he would do this, he smelled of gin particularly strongly.
Maple Hill, Jim's Fried Chicken, Stephen and Martin's, Buck Forty-Nine/River Bend, Compagno's, Phillip's, Bull's Corner, these were some of our Uptown staples.

Up until 2005, places had to have permission to open. Not sure what the deal is since then.

Lack of suitable employees to choose from?
yep, plus latoya shut down all the ones they did have with her mandates and restrictions to make sure no whites owned anything in the chocolate city ever again

Apologies. I thought you were referring to the one on Vets in Kenner.

So wait, white people can't own anything in New Orleans anymore? How is that even legal? You'd think someone would bring some kind of lawsuit or something.

sure you can, and they will just bankrupt you with BS regulations and covid restrictions until you no longer have a business dufus

But still, if they're only doing that to white people, it seems like there could be some grounds for legal action - no?
