Why is the Cane's website/app so terrible?

Ya boy has built himself a pretty large company. Only recently did they start online ordering / app ordering.
I had downloaded the app and used it once. Today I tried to use it to order some tailgate packs for tomorrow. (Don't tell Destroya).
Asked for my password. It did not work. Tried to reset it. Kept crashing. Tried to use the website to reset. Kept giving me an error message.
Ended up ordering without an account.
Also, what happened to Caniac cards? I had one, lost it, and can't figure out a way to get a new one. I don't see them advertised anymore.
If they are a Dallas company now, you would think they could at least get a decent loyalty/online system.

Same thing happens on other fast food apps I've used, e.g. Taco Bell.
They're probably all hosted by the same shitty company.

They use an antique point of sale with limited integrations/functionality
They franchised a lot of their stores and probably have a hard time getting them all on the same page

This. Chick fil A owns all of its stores which made a huge difference when building their app. It is also why the CFA app doesn't work at airports (since those stores go through a 3rd party).
Other restaurant franchisees can purchase different types of registers and / or kitchen software which makes tying all of them together very difficult.
#2 son oversaw the construct of CFAs app (from a marketing perspective).

Why use the app? It’s fast as hell as is. It’s unnecessary. But really why is the price steady increasing the tender size steady decreasing?

They can't get enough chickens, they know this is a problem. They are staying with the fresh, never frozen chicken thing and the processors are killing younger and younger chickens to meet the demand. Mon-Thurs the chickens are older than the chicken served Fri-Sun so the tenders run a little bigger. They say that couple of days adds on up to 1/2 oz per tender.
