Lol, seriously tho. I gotta talk my gf into staying in Louisiana at least 3x a week(I'm just comfortable in the state at the moment).
Today we were laughing about a $770k shotgun house we saw for sale in nola as they just broke 23 car jackings. Tomorrow it'll probably be the gunshots I hear on the way to work down Airline in br.
If we weren't Louisiana residents it'd be more funny than sad.

Plus they get you on your home taxes.
You get to enjoy all the things this funds in Texas though, all the public stuff is nice.
I’ll take that all day over paying 70% less in Louisiana sending my kids to private school and never using a public property

Do you have to live in a city?

Katy Icehouse lol. That is just fine but there are dozens of other places in Dallas better then that place.
Move to Tarrant County or Denton County if you want a more conservative local political situation. We live in Southlake and love it.

What about Texas makes it so attractive to both the left and the right?

Dirry secret.....liberals also love lower income taxes and cheap land.

Great question, Baw. You can get twice the house, with half the taxes, by moving to some little pissant town in the middle of the places you need to go.

For me its the rivers. For a state without 1 natural lake its got some awesome rivers.

If you move to Austin, you’ll need $700,000 to buy a DR Horton starter home.

The left likes it because they haven’t been able to ruin it yet

Hasn’t the round rock school board gone insane? I thought I read an article to that effect.

Houston is a gross parking lot. Dallas is plastic, narcissistic and keep up with the Jones’s. If you can truly control where you live, look at Boerne, Junction, Kerrville or somewhere in that area.

—Depends on the age of the home and neighborhood. 3200 sf home here built in mid 70s—$2k annual taxes. Plus I don’t worry about crime like back in BR

Houston proper is sure, but the amount of suburbs with something different to offer are immense.

Not always true. 1800 sq ft home built in the 50's. My taxes are $5800 this year.

The inner loop isn’t a parking lot.

Name one “nice” suburb that is not in a flat, traffic ridden, humid with a nasty strip center nearby. Sorry, the topography and weather (especially since it is a concrete flood plain) render it a shithole.
To the OP, there is nowhere in TX as pretty as Blue Ridge, Hiawassee, Dahlonega, Blood Mtn, etc.
