I bought a squirrel monkey in the late 60's, it ended up dying, vets who worked on them were hard to find.
A buddy had a gifted spider monkey from another friend of our's. After quite a few years she started turning mean. She got out, which she was good at and made it from S. Claiborne and Leonidas to S. Carrollton and Fern through trees and poles I guess.
There is no way to get one off of you if they're afraid, you have 2 hands, she had 5 ways of holding on, arms, legs and tail. Fun times, miss you Ophelia.

My grandparents used to own one. After they couldn't care for it anymore, they donated it to the BR zoo.
