It's not happening. Putin is willing to look like a bitch rather than carpet bomb Ukraine in order to soften them up for invasion. I like to think serious threats of thermonuclear war are behind us and we're past that filter.

Do people not understand force projection. We can literally park what Russia has around the Ukrainian around Russia in a week or so. Our Navy and Marines is what separates us, they do have have decent tanks and planes, but no one will ever touch US Soil unless it's terrorism or ballistic. we deal with terrorism, Russia would be gone long before us if things went ballistic. They don't even have one decent aircraft carrier.
