I fall under that group. ('81)

A lot of people born in 1980 and 1981 are really too young for generation x and too old for millennial.

It’s a weird timeframe for classifying a generation.

Someone born in 1980 has little in common with someone born in 1968 and the same with someone born in 1992.

Generations span too many years in my opinion.

Because it was discussed ad nauseam for many years. I think most of us simply have fatigue.

What is Gen X's schtick?

Gen X and the oldest tier of millennials are the real enemy. They raised and created the vapid, perpetual-victim, social media-obsessed generation Z.

They did an even worse job of raising children than the Boomers did.

Oh, piss off. I’m in the older tier of Gen X (‘67). I raised kids born in ‘93 and ‘99. Technology and society were evolving at hyper speed during the raising of those kids. As a generation, we had to make decisions based on the information that was available. They weren’t always the best decisions, but I do believe that Gen X parents at least held their kids accountable, for the most part. I don’t think that is still going on.

You’re incredibly wrong. The current group of college students, twenty something’s, and older teenagers were largely raised by people in your age group, and as a whole you all did a terrible job.

The Gen Z kids are totally the fault of their Gen X parents. Their social-media obsessed lives and culture is on you guys.

I was born in '81(my birthday is next Sunday) and I've always identified as Gen X. Always.

I agree w/your views in your post. But I Will say that a generation by definition averages 18-19 years. Boomers go from '46-'64 and X goes from '65-82-'83.
