I don't understand it. I've lived a pretty carefree life up until the last couple years but some stupid decisions I've made have landed me in a constant state of beating myself up. Things I know I shouldn't have done and still did them anyway. I always hear "You have to forgive yourself" but that's a lot easier said than done. I'm generally a happy person but sometimes I'll do something that I know I shouldn't have and I'll go back to beating myself up and fretting over it for weeks.

I think the reason that I will live in guilt is because I know I shouldn't have done whatever it is I did. It's just real frustrating feeling bad about something especially when it's something that I could've controlled.

Any tips on just forgiving yourself?

It's hard to forgive yourself when you think you're not worthy of forgiveness. It's false humility. You have to see your worth and what you're capable of.

Na, just made a stupid decision this weekend (one that I've made before and seen the outcome of it) feeling pretty awful about it.

I'm harder on myself than anyone. I have found people are far more forgiving and accepting of my faults than I am. I've learned to appreciate where I am though, hard times are a part of that. I don't hate on myself near as much anymore.

I'm a sociopathic narcissist so it's very difficult for me to relate.

^^this is more along the lines of my thinking.

I understand people hate themselves but I wouldn't put myself in that category. I just have a hard time being at peace with some of the dumb shite that I've done in my short life.
