I'm bitching about anyone getting money. Just happens men are the payers 97% of the time.

The easiest way to avoid this dilemma is to marry a woman with a better job. From a socio-economic standpoint women marry upwards, and the 97% number is a reflection of that.

Alimony is gender neutral. If the wife out earns the man, they can ask for it. They just don’t.

Lol yep. She out earned me by just a bit and the judge wrote she had to pay me $40 a month. I never made her but damn was she ever pissed just because it was in there.

Uh no. That's because some doctor prescribed Zoloft and she became a totally different person. -- fat and mean and paranoid.

Good luck with that

That's not some random statistic. Women overwhelmingly choose to marry men who earn significantly more money and categorically reject most men who don't.

RE: marriage women are pragmatists who masquerade as romantics whereas men are romantics who masquerade as pragmatists.

Because most modern American women are basically helpless children despite that the fact that they probably have the easiest life and most privilege than any other subgroup in the world. I blame boomer parents.

Equality.

There are thousands of men in the US getting alimony from their ex-wives.

The fact that men generally make more money than women is a huge part of it, too. We can debate the reasons for it later, but it's statistically significant.

That's mostly their problem. The "gender pay gap" is almost non existent when women go into STEM fields and work just as many hours as men.

My cousin (female) is not a baller but she works full time. Her husband is an unemployed drunk. No kids. Rumor is they are headed for divorce. Wonder if she’ll have to pay him spousal support?

And child support doesn't go to the child

I worked with a guy who's wife had two kids from a previous marriage. She didn't work and got $1,500 for child support and it directly to their $1,400 house note. I asked him what he planned on doing when the kids turned 18.

He said he would figure it out when that time came....

Your wife got to keep the car she paid for and the money she made on her own. She didn’t take you to court for spousal abuse because you agreed to give her the house. You can’t abuse your wife on a daily basis and expect no negative consequences. Good luck with being a raging homeless alcoholic with a job your daddy gave you. You’ve never worked a day in your life spoiled brat
